If you're looking for fancy this is not going to be the place for you, but if you are looking for downtown hospitality and a very relaxed atmosphere with family fun activities, then you will love it. A super fun place with indoor waterslides and an owner that has 2 dogs of their own. We checked in and the owner was so very nice. They explained about the indoor water park. And gave us keys to that. The room was simple but clean and so perfect for us. It's very eclectic in decoration and quite comfortable. For a small town place and not to mention the only pet friendly motel in town. It's great. I booked a second night because the whole place is quite friendly

My family was traveling from Florida back to Oklahoma and decided to stop last minute at the Diamond Crater State Park. I called the Little Shamrock at 9:30 pm on a Friday night for same day check in (I let them know I would be coming in close to 11pm) I was given instructions to ring the doorbell when I arrived. We checked in at 11:30pm without issue. Our room was clean, everything worked, nice cold air conditioning, no bed bugs or bugs of any kind. The beds were comfy. The room was perfect for what we needed it for...just to rest and wake up early to hit the mine. My girls enjoyed playing with the pet geese while we loaded up. I wish I had time to explore the grounds. It is a very cute and eclectic place...they have old- fashioned character ride-on toys from the 70's and 80's (Garfield & Snoopy) very nostalgic, retro and different from a stay at a "normal" hotel. My family and I would definitely stay again. I read all the bad reviews before calling the Little Shamrock...ignore those and rest easy. We did ?

The best thing I can say about the Shamrock is our two dogs were allowed, for a $20 fee. The bathroom was also clean. The room was relatively clean but smelled of cigarette smoke. The air conditioner was a tiny window unit that didn’t get the room cool until about 2 AM and the filter was filthy. The door connecting to the next room was concerning. The front door had no dead bolt. The window curtain was see through. The bathroom had no electrical outlets. Wiring in the room was exposed. The hotel decor was creepy and we still don’t know why they had 6 geese penned up on the property. No chance we will be back.

Stay away!!!
I called this hotel after there was an issue with my wife’s reservation. She arrived and was told there was no reservation, though we have a confirmation number. When my wife called me, my daughter was crying. I was told they had been kicked out and not allowed into the hotel.
I called to get some clarity on the situation. I was met with hostility and hung up on twice. The man I spoke with was completely unwilling to have a conversation. This is one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. We spoke for no more than 2 minutes, and before he hung up on me, he said, “I wouldn’t rent to you or your wife if hell froze over.”
Be warned. Seek accommodation elsewhere.

Small room but comfortable bed. Bathroom door needed adjusted and wouldn't shut.
Office is always locked but someone will answer if you ring the doorbell. Great A/C unit, very cold.
Pool needed chemicals adjusted but would be great for children if it wasn't cloudy. The indoor waterpark would be fun for kids but it was closed.

After a 14 hour car ride, we finally found a motel that was open at 2am. The gentleman did not seem happy to be woke up. I should have walked out when i saw a sign that said you could only get refunded if it was within first 20 minutes of check in. However, we were exhausted and figured we'd at least try it. After walking in and noticing the sheets were either stained or dirty, ac was broken and finally seeing a dead roach on the floor, we left, dropped the key in the drop box and cut our loss. Finally, 2 hours later found a great place, with nice rooms, great customer service. If it was possible to give 0 stars, I would.

Honestly didn't know what to expect by the reviews but it really was not that bad. The indoor water park was small with 2 working slides and also a back area with more things, this area is not accessible unless 10 or more people are in the pool which is an interesting choice. I believe the pool is salt water and looked very clean, although the back area was creepy. The front desk women was very insightful about near by activities and gave great advice on what was worth the money. The rooms themselves were extremely dimly lit and hard to see in, they were also not the cleanest but all together could have been worse. Near by activities are the diamond craters (we recommend going to the native/Indian reservation for diamond hunting and history rather than the state park) and the near by creeks. I will say food options are limited to two resturants and a dollar generall.

Overall very kid friendly hotel with good activities but questionable lighting.

I didn’t give it a terrible rating only because I got a refund but when I saw this place on hotel.com it looked like a wacky place my kids would enjoy. I reserved 2 nights and brought my two youngest everywhere we travel we’ve never had to list them and I’ve never had a hotel have a problem with it or say anything other they there free anyway so I didn’t think anything of it. The room we were going to be in was recommended for two but our boys like to camp on the floor when we travel so that was plenty of space. We pull up and the decorations are much creepier in person then the pictures let on. Some guy was doing donuts on his lawn mower in the parking lot. So my family stayed in the van with doors locked and I went in, right away I could tell that this was not the place for us. The lady was very rude and short like the customer was an inconvenience, if that’s the case there in the wrong perfection. She asked how many I said me my wife and my two boys she said this room will not work I’ll need to put you in a different room, knowing when someone is trying to get more money out of me because I’m not stupid she also said or I can give you a refund, I took the second option which I did appreciate but while she’s processing it she says that it clearly says this rooms only for 2 people to which I reply no and tried to explain that the “recommended” occupancy was 2 but I was cut off and yelled at “YES IT DOES SAY THAT!!!!” Shocked I stepped back and said okay just amazed she would talk to a customer like that. To which she replied “there’s no need to get irrate “ or something like that I was just in shock and wanted to get my stuff and go so I didn’t say another word. At no point was I rude or confrontational it was her attitude and from what I have now researched is a normal thing, there’s endless reviews of this lady being rude which explains why the hotel looked like it was completely empty, I would not recommend staying here, in my opinion it is not family friendly. I would not ever recommend anyone to go here and I sure would not ever go here again.
