It's a newer hotel so it's in great shape. All their amenities are great. Free breakfast is over pretty quick during the week. It was closed down at 9:30 am. Beds are firm which is what I like. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again.

I normally don’t leave reviews for hotels but I was pretty impressed with this Holiday Inn Express. As soon as we settled into our room, I received a text, “how’s your room?…” We stayed for 3 nights, July 9-12th. Fresh linens DAILY and room cleaned DAILY. We didn’t have to ask for anything as everything was replaced/stocked well. One morning we walked in and as I was passing the courtesy desk, I said to my husband, “oh shoot, I didn’t bring my hairspray.” The lady at the desk overheard me and said, “here you go ma’am.” She handed me a small bottle of hairspray NO charge🤗. Breakfast daily, loved that they served egg white omelettes and have a small fridge with: boiled eggs, yogurts and milk. Their coffee is really good, grinds fresh beans for each cup. Very friendly staff, clean environment. Was bummed that we didn’t get to visit the pool. On a side note, this gem is hard to find with your GPS, you have to circle around business drives a bit. I was a vendor for the Wyandotte St. Festival, although local, 45 minutes from home was a bit too far to drive. Will definitely stay here next year!

We’ve now stayed at this property for four consecutive weekends, and every visit has been nothing short of wonderful. The rooms are always spotless, the amenities are fantastic, and the staff truly sets this hotel apart. It’s rare these days to find a property where the noise levels are so well managed — we were never once disturbed by hallway or neighboring room noise, which made our stays even more relaxing.

A special shoutout to Mina, who was absolutely incredible during each of our visits. She was consistently warm, welcoming, and helpful — and by our second weekend, she was already greeting us by name! It’s that kind of personal touch that makes a huge difference.

On our last weekend, we discovered the outdoor patio area with a fireplace and grill — what a hidden gem! We’re already looking forward to enjoying it on future visits.

This hotel has officially become our go-to whenever we're in the area. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a clean, quiet, and genuinely welcoming place to stay.

I have never stayed there but my mother just loves this hotel, and she can be a little hard to please at times. We have a special needs family member who also stays there with her and surprisingly she told me this hotel has better staff that help her better than 5 star hotels she frequents abroad. She says she adores the Manager Christin or Crystal mom says is the absolute Best.And looks forward to seeing Cristal and Brittany when she used to never consider non 5 stars., Any how I am so amazed that this affordable hotel has consistently been A+ for my hard to please Mom lol credit must be given when due in such a rare nature. Respect to this hotel and maybe the other H.I.'s will take notes on how to be top notch consistently and give 5-star service for an economically friendly price pointe hotel.

Stayed here for one night. Had a restful night and got a free car charge by running an extension cord and plugging into a trickle charger outlet on the outside wall of the hotel. The staff said it was fine to do so. I was very happy with my stay.

This hotel was definitely clean and quiet, if that’s what you’re looking for would highly recommend. The hotel manager Brittany was AMAZING! she allowed me for a early check-in and was able to fulfill my requests for extra room amenities(towels and toiletries) ASAP!

The Room itself was VERY clean and taken care of, however, I do not think the fridge was operating properly and the pillows on the bed are horrible if you’re a firm pillow person like myself. The towels were also less that desired and could use a switch. Also I’m not sure which controlled the A/c in the room but there was working A/c but the wall unit and thermostat was confusing.

Stayed here for a few Tigers games then paid for parking downtown. This hotel stands out because of the value and easy to get to the stadium. It is about a 15 minute drive to the Comerica park. The hotel is near to the highway entrance making the drive easy. No highway changer just straight to the Tigers. As for the hotel itself, it is what you would expect from a Holiday Inn and Suites. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good with lots of choices. The rooms were clean and smelled fresh. the pool nice for kids. The exercise room equipment was sparse.

Great service for money. I would stay again and again. The bedding was so clean, staff amazingly friendly. I didn't have breakfast but it smelled so good. The lotion and soap in the bathroom was convenient because I left mine at home. I enjoyed.my stay.

Nick at the front desk really made our stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Southgate awesome. From check-in he was super friendly, and you could tell he was running the desk and handling a lot but still always made time for us. Every time we came downstairs, he was already moving toward the desk to help. I even called about a lint roller (not a normal request) and he went out of his way to check, then apologized when there wasn’t one. His positive attitude and effort definitely stood out and made our stay way better.
