Feelings about our 2-night stay in early April @ Fairfield Manor B&B are tough to unravel for me & my wife. I had initial issues with proprietor's on-line reservation service, and repetitive attempts to E-mail the business directly were kicked back as undeliverable. I was finally able to speak to the property owner by phone a few days before our arrival, and he assured me our reservation would be honored. I received an E-mail notification during our long drive to Shreveport, informing us that we'd be staying in the Fairfield Manor house (diagonally opposite across the high traffic Fairfield Avenue from the primary Fairfield Place B&B property where our original on-line reservation was booked). On our arrival we had some lingering confusion over which property & which entry door to open-by-code for access to our room; but after a few text exchanges & a phone call with Mr. Cariere, we were able to sort out our lodging accommodations. Guest parking for the Manor is behind the home, accessed off Boulevard Street through an ironwork arched gate with the guest entry door up some outdoor stairs or an adjacent ramp that's part of a very large wrap-around deck.||We found our assigned 2nd floor Bourbon Suite bedroom to be spacious & very clean & pleasantly decorated. The variety of seating options in the room were appreciated, as was the in-room beverage service table. The ensuite bathroom was very small with odd dimensions due to the roofline features, but it was functional for our needs. [NOTE: Be aware that the bottom of the 2-person spa with showerhead can be slippery.] The king bed was marginally comfortable. The small common lounge area right outside the guest room entry door offered an option for social interaction & one of the many collections of sweets throughout the Manor. The interior decorations of the property are so numerous & varied that you could spend an hour or more roaming through the various first floor spaces to admire them (while grazing on the dozen or more containers of sweet treats). The primary gathering area inside the guest entry door is eclectically decorated & very comfortable, with access to coffee service plus filtered water & ice. The grounds around the building offer several outdoor spots to gather & relax, and the garden spaces seem to be regularly tended (with the seasonal azaleas offering a special treat for us to see).||Daily breakfast service is offered on the entry floor of the Fairfield Place property, requiring guests staying at Fairfield Manor to walk across the street. Friendly B&B housekeeping/service staff members knocked at our door each morning to remind us that breakfast was from 8:30 to 9:00 AM. It's a sit-yourself-down and wait for table service routine, with a common small variety of breakfast items served in small portions & drinks available at an adjacent self-serve space. I found the daily grits well prepared & quite tasty, but the rest of the food was unremarkable.||My overall impression of the Fairfield B&B business is that the mostly hands-off hospitality behavior of the owner plus the underwhelming breakfasts diminish the value to the guests of the two conveniently located & beautifully decorated & attractively maintained homes. As such, my wife & I would be hesitant to recommend a stay for other Shreveport visitors to this pair of B&B properties.

Great location, beautiful accommodations and food was very good. Top notch B&B except a/c was extremely inadequate for June in Louisiana. Slept on top of the covers and was miserable. Will never stay there again unless it is Winter and cold weather.

Needed to ring to check in as booked after 6.00pm.
Did not include that breakfast was in property accross the street.
Rooms over decorated and cluttered. No where to put our 2 large suitcases and 2 backpacks.
Bed, toilet and bathroom basin all needed urgent maintenance!! Staff came to check after we raised with owner the next morning, but too late after a sleeplessness night.
Property was clean and quiet. Lots of snacks and drinks available in common areas. No hot chocolate available at breakfast only tea and coffee.

We LOVED our stay at Fairfield Manor! The house is beautiful and each room has its own theme and style. Breakfast at Fairfield Place (just across the street) was delicious. The owner does have three dogs (two poodles and one dachshund) who are very sweet and love people, but they will jump up on you! My friends and I loved it, but fair warning to anyone who is allergic or just isn't a dog person. The owner and his staff were very communicative and friendly, and the location was great. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone looking in Shreveport!

My wife and I recently spent one night there. It was a wonderful experience! My wife has mobility issues so they put us in a room which she could access via a ramp and one short step. The next morning, I called to tell the proprietor that we would not be coming to breakfast because of the difficulty in getting her there. He immediately offered to bring us breakfast on trays. Minutes later, we had quiche, sausage, danish, berries and juice. Coffee was already there. The people who helped us were all friendly and efficient. The Victorian style houses were charming! I recommend Fairfield Manor very highly!

I stayed at the Fairfield place and the Manor in multiple rooms. Each room is unique. Both homes have extravagant decor. They are both extremely romantic. The owners and staff will cater to the most request. I have not had any requests unavailable. The breakfast is unique and delicious. It's definitely a gourmet breakfast, and it's on the more healthy side. I can not say enough about the accommodations at these two facilities. The courtyards are beautiful. The dining areas the hallways and the stairways are just very impressive. There's lots of places to sit that are comfortable and shady outdoors. It's very private. It is one of the most unique romantic places that I have stayed at anywhere in the world. I've stayed in different countries and all over the United States. This little place in Shreveport Louisiana is one I visit a lot. I come because it's peaceful. The staff and owners are extremely polite. They make you feel like you're at home when you're here. I can't say enough about how impressive the architecture and the interior design are. It is a step above anywhere else you could possibly stay. I highly recommend coming here with a loved one or even if you had small children. I've seen them play in the courtyard, and it looks like they have a wonderful time. I will definitely be back many times just to escape the hustle and bustle of life and to have peace and tranquility in a beautiful romantic atmosphere.

Beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood. The rooms are clean, well decorated, and relaxing. The manager was easily accessible and even came to breakfast with us.

I would certainly stay here again if I return to Shreveport.

We were having a very important occasion in Shreveport and wanted to stay some place that was simple to access and lovely to enjoy. We found the perfect place!! The environment of this B&B is peaceful and enchanting!! I especially enjoyed the eclectic art work and trinkets- created an interesting story and I would have love to have known the history behind each! The room and bathroom were another happy treasure- beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable and especially clean!! We were looking forward to enjoying the breakfast but had to leave last minute- we were feeling disappointed- but, then, one of the lovely ladies approached us on hearing that we had to suddenly leave and told us to hang on tight for a few minutes. By the time we had our vehicle loaded, this precious lady brought us two very fresh and hot breakfasts!! SO THOUGHTFUL!!
And, of course, the breakfasts were amazing!! Our only regret is that we did not get to stay longer!!
