My daughter and I enjoyed a thoroughly delightful time being introduced to the legendary Amazon with the addition of an entire day touring Bogotá.

Can’t say enough good things about our experience. Thanks to our incredible guide Sergio, who took great care of us the entire time we were in Amazonia, we explored jungles and wildlife, took a night-time paddle to look and listen, spotted grey and pink river dolphins, strolled the no-motorized-vehicles-allowed Puerto Nariño, successfully searched Isla de Cacao for sloths, encountered sundry primates in the Maikuchiga monkey sanctuary, met many interesting people, added several birds to my life list – just to name a few of the highlights from our adventure.

Accommodations were just right. Food was delicious and plentiful. And support services exceptional.

AAdventures helped us plan a fantastic trip to Quito, Ecuador & The Galapagos. A genuine bucket list adventure! Every detail was thought through and well executed from our guide to our Galapagos cruise. Juan Carlos checked in with us and ensured our trip went smoothly. I highly recommend and would use AAdventures again!

Vacation plans or hikes with AAdventures is always top notch. I like the fact that management is not pushy at all in terms of what they recommend. Once plan is set the execution is smooth and perfect. Everything from notifications, pick ups, drop offs, hotel choices and local recommendations is done to the perfection.

We love working with Akanan adventures. It takes away the stress of whats next, as it is all managed for you.

Juan Carlos at AAdventures organized a trip of a lifetime for me and my wife Jeanine. A private trek to the top of Auyantepui, Venezuela. Juan Carlos also recruited the services of a second guide who was an expert on the local flora. Javier and Juan Carlos introduced us to an ecosystem like to other. Assisted by the native Lemon people, our trip turned into a very unique and unforgettable experience. To top it all, not only we camped at the base of Angel Fall on our way out, we had a wonderful adventure traveling down the Churun River. Thank you Juan Carlos.

My son and I visited Roraima with Akanan Adventures. It was a fantastic trip (10 out of 10). We flew to Caracas where we were met at the airport and taken to our hotel. The next day we took a tour of the mountains between Caracas and the ocean, where we got great views of Caracas and the ocean. That evening we flew to Puerto Ordaz, where we were again met at the airport and taken to our hotel. Very early the next morning, we were picked up and driven through the Grand Savannah to San Francisco. The drive was about 12 hours. We had an excellent driver Pablo from Cruz de Bolivar. After a night in San Francisco, we started our trek. My son, who was not feeling well, was able to get a motorcycle to take him the first 11 km. The next four days we camped at beautiful campsites with no one else at the campsites besides our group of 5 (my son, myself, guide Wilfer, portor Yoel and cook Dadwin). We were extremely grateful that our tour took place, despite there only being two of us! It was great being on the top of Roraima without anyone outside of our group. What a spectacular place. Our guide, porter and cook were terrific! Highly recommend them. It wasn’t until we were coming down on the fifth day that we suddenly started passing lots of other tourists (around 70 in total based on the park registry). We were very grateful for the first four days, during which we saw fewer than 10 tourists. The top of Roraima not only afforded great views, but also many interesting indigenous plants and animals. We saw everything from birds and lizards to tarantulas (we counted at least four at our campsite, as well as several other spiders) and the famed Roraima fox that really isn’t a fox but a coati (type of racoon) – can’t say I’ve ever seen anything similar however. We saw two, one with its tail between its legs. We also swam in the jacuzzi and the fabulous La Fosa – awesome swimming hole surrounded by underwater caves. The triple point, where Guyana, Venezuela and Brazil come together, was surrounded by many wild sandstone rock formations – pretty eerie in the mist. We especially enjoyed the cave with natural gold on the ceiling. After finishing the trek, we returned to Puerto Ordaz and flew back to Caracas, where we had a fascinating tour of the city on our last day. The highlight for us was the University. We had an excellent guide Felix and driver Carlos, who was also a University professor, and showed us the University campus, as well as introduced us to some of the other University faculty. All in all, the trip was amazingly well organized. Juan Carlos, head of Akanan, always seemed to be in touch with whoever was accompanying us. Although we pretty much crossed the entire Venezuela and also visited Caracas, we always felt that we were in good hands and never felt threatened or in danger. Most of the Venezuelans and indigenous people that we met were extremely friendly and curious. Overall, it was a fabulous experience and I can highly recommend the trip, Venezuela and the Venezuelans. I almost never give a rating of 10, but this adventure definitely deserves a 10!

I have gone in several trips with Akanan Adventures, from the jungles of the Amazon, to the heights of the Andes and the Salt Flats of Bolivia. I keep coming back to this company because they have not only the most wonderful adventures, but also because they are trustworthy, reliable, and consistently deliver above and beyond what is expected!
