In September 2024 I met 3 life long friends for a Lasting Adventures hike from Glacier Point to the Half Dome. Our guide Dyson was just exceptional in every way. Members of our groups had different experience levels, needs and interests - he met and exceeded each of those with ease. Dyson shared his passion for the outdoors and knowledge about Yosemite, and blew us away with his cooking stills too. The hike and views to the summit were spectacular and I highly recommend Lasting Adventures.

Cathedral Lakes, Clouds Rest, and Half Dome Summit was one of the best backpacking trips I have ever experienced! I’ve backpacked on my own but now finding it difficult to snag permits. This trip was absolutely fantastic. Beautiful views, hidden campsites, great planning of mileage and time. Our guide Eric was patient, encouraging, empowering, a wealth of knowledge, and a great cook! He even does his own dishes!

I highly recommend Lasting Adventures. This is not glamping. You will work hard each day on the trail. Training is essential in order to enjoy the journey. Train 4 months before your trip as recommended. If you don’t have hills to train on, Carry a weighted pack and do stairs/bleachers for at least 30 mins nearly everyday.

In August 2024, our group of four adults greatly enjoyed the 6 day backcountry trip in Yosemite's high Sierras, led by Lasting Adventures. (A side note: Since 1997, non-profit organization Lasting Adventures has been leading young people on backpacking wilderness trips without cell phones, challenging them and providing support/encouragement along the way.) Some of us were first time backcountry through hikers, so we really appreciated having a fabulous/friendly/knowledgeable guide with decades of experience in Yosemite. The hikes were challenging (in a good way) and the places we got to see were truly awe inspiring. From gorgeous mountains, to crystal clear lakes to cascading waterfalls complete with rainbows - the scenery made us so happy that our phones had no connectivity. Our photos cannot fully convey the beauty of the landscapes, and the inner peace that grew the longer we were disconnected from our typical busy lives. For our group, the Lasting Adventures trip was like hitting a "reset" button - so when we got home again, we were better able to enjoy and appreciate much that we'd previously overlooked or taken for granted. Also, I'd be remiss if I failed to mention how great the food was on this trip - everyone especially loved the fajitas!

Had a fantastic experience with Dison and Zach. They always made sure we were safe and having the best time ever. Also the food they prepared was amazing. they also accommodated me being a bit slower and worked with me to be able to finish the whole hike. I highly recommend Lasting Adventures for your trip. What a wonderful (and different) through hike with Anna (Lasting Adventures) in the North Coast (WA). Haven't hiked in the beach before having to mind the tide schedule, but it was made easy and very interesting (with tide pooling). The views of the coast are spectacular, especially the these huge rocks (islands) with trees in the ocean. Hike was a bit strenuous (and fun) since some parts were on the slippery stones, but Anna planned it to go when the tide was the lowest and in the morning when it was not hot (so we had a sunny afternoon to suntan at the campsite). Could not recommend enough.

We highly recommend Lasting Adventures for an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, our trip was nothing short of incredible. My husband, son, and I traveled in September, the perfect time to visit – fewer crowds and gorgeous sunshine throughout!

Our guide, Kara, ensured every hike was customized to meet our interests, taking us to Yosemite’s most breathtaking spots, including Tunnel View, Yosemite Valley, Sentinel Dome (from the top!), Tenaya Lake, May Lake, Tuolumne Meadows, Mariposa Grove, and more. Her expert knowledge, warm personality, and great sense of humor added so much to our adventure, and her attention to detail made all the difference. We even had the thrill of spotting a bear! Despite our dietary restrictions, Kara provided delicious snacks and meals that kept us energized throughout the hikes.

Our stay at a villa at Rush Creek Lodge was fantastic, with beautiful views, excellent food and a relaxing hot tub — the perfect way to wind down after a day on the trails. We are looking forward to our next trip with Lasting Adventures!
