After staying in motels for a couple of nights, the Cooper House was a breath of fresh air, literally. Janet and Bill are wonderful hosts and a wealth of information about the area. The rooms were meticulous and had lots of character as did the common areas in this stately home. The breakfast was superb (try the baked eggs) and gave us a great start for our day in Yosemite. Coming back to the smell of homemade cookies was certainly a nice touch and a glass of local red capped the day. Highly recommend the Cooper House and hope to go back.

From the moment we walked in until the day we left (3 nights) this was a lovely experience. Comfortable setting, quiet environment, walking distance to the downtown and well-situated to drive to nearby attractions, comfortable bed, good pillows, the room was cool even though it was hot outside, and innkeepers Janet and Bill seemed to understand how to be the perfect hosts. Available but not intrusive, personable, well-versed on area history and attractions, a sampling of local wines for a little end-of-the-day drink, plenty of cold water during the hot days and breakfasts that (while simple) are worthy of the best California-farm-to-table chefs. And I especially appreciated that they also had good TV service AND free wi-fi that worked well. An inn-style Bed & Breakfast isn't for everyone, but for those who enjoy a more personal, laid-back experience, this is a winner!

Janet was extremely welcoming and friendly, providing us with a wonderful breakfast including fresh smoothies each day and freshly baked cookies in the evenings.||||Rooms were comfortable and quiet, and it was nice to sit out on the porch enjoying a drink. It was hot outside but the rooms were well air-conditioned. Complimentary drinks and coffee making facilities were appreciated.||||It’s a 5-minute walk into the historic town of Angels Camp, which we really enjoyed. Would definitely recommend visiting “Stories in Stone” while you’re there.||||Would definitely stay here again.||Thanks Janet and Bill!

At a charity event for the Garden Club of Calaveras we were hosted by the Cooper House owners Bill and Janet. They provided us with a insightful tour, history of the||Cooper House, and a wonderful dinner paired from wines from the Ironstone Winery. Candy and Lynn from the Garden Club were our our gracious guide and waitresses during this event. I would highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast.

This was a last minute booking made through an agency, and when we knocked on the door, Janet hadn't been informed of the reservation. Nevertheless, she made us welcome, and quickly sorted out a room for us.||||The house is full of character, and we were very comfortable in our room with the small adjacent sitting room.||||This reservation was made as we had been let down by our pre-booked accommodation (Rush Creek Lodge), as they postponed their opening date. This meant that we had to leave at 4.30 am, to make our planned visit to Yosemite. Janet very kindly left us a delicious packed breakfast, including some of her home-made produce.||||Not cheap, but in a very interesting small town which we would not hesitate to re-visit.

Cooper House B&B was a wonderful cozy place to stay. The place is clean, beds are comfortable and food was delicious. Enjoyed our morning drinking fresh brewed coffee on a covered front porch and later afternoon wine on the back patio. Location was very close to town and parking was easy. Thank you Janet!

I had never stayed in a bed and breakfast and called the owner Janey before booking. She was very sweet and when we arrived had snacks and drinks waiting there for us. We felt right at home and the room we stayed in had a wonderful private deck and breakfast the following morning was amazing. Definitely would visit there again. Thanks Janet!
