I recently used All Travel Advantage to book a cruise for a friend's birthday. We booked with Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas to the Bahamas. Rob not only knew the cruise line and itinerary well, but did an outstanding job making sure every detail was covered so once on the ship, we could really enjoy ourselves. First, I am a self diagnosed control freak who usually requires the details of everything when booking trips. However, I wasn't getting the information necessary via the Internet and decided to go the travel agent route. Leaving the planning and details up to Rob was the best decision I could have made and allowed me to enjoy the trip without the worry of anything popping up.

Peru and Machu Picchu has been a bucket list of mine for some time. I specifically wanted to go on a 4 day/3 night hike and then wanted to build an itinerary around it. He is methodical in the details necessary when planning, organizing and informing. He excelled in cutting through any confusion in items that I found on the internet or had heard via friends. He provided several options including seeing Peru from a high end train point of view as well as staying with a family for a night to get the feel of the culture. But I want to point out where the trip seemed seamless, from one experience to another. From the time I landed in Lima, at the airport, there was someone there to greet me to take me to my hotel. From Lima, I went to Lake Titacaca, again was greeted and transferred to my hotel. At each hand-off, the host knew where I was supposed to be and even provided me with updates to my itinerary. These transfers and hand offs were consistent throughout my two week visit to Peru. . I was greeted by Nohomi at the hotel when we arrived. She had my boarding pass already printed and had the luggage waiting for me as I got out of the transfer. I was able to pack the rest of my belongings and within minutes had another transfer to take me to the airport. From there, she provided me with her local number as she walked me into the airport. They were expecting severe storms that evening and while she was confident I would be able to leave, she wanted me to call her if my flight was cancelled so they could assist in accommodations. It is the level of detail that Rob takes when booking these trips that we as travel planners don't take into consideration when organizing. The freedom I felt in knowing I didn't have to worry about where I was going in a taxi or lack of communication I was having with local hoteliers were left behind because of Rob's preparation.

You may compare prices on the Internet and see that most of them are same. You may ask yourself, what am I getting with having All Travel book this over doing it yourself. I am telling you now, it is worth it booking with Rob. He handles customer complaints with travel providers promptly and effectively. He recognizes customer services as a critical factor and provides excellent service - almost as a competitive edge. Not only does he provide a premium service from a customer standpoint, he delivers a knowledge base of expertise and provides value added services to all of his customers. I have since booked a cruise with him since my Peru trip and within two weeks, he called me up and stated the price of my outside cabin had dropped and even added $200 cabin credit during my trip. I was able to get both and saved me over $1200. I would have never have gone back on my own, nor would I have called and asked for the discount. Rob did it on his own.

The role of a travel agent is one that has lost some luster over the years due to straight business to consumer bookings. However, I will say that Rob devotes the appropriate attention to all the responsibilities that a travel agent should look that we as consumers fail to remember. If you are looking to book a trip to Europe or a cruise, want to go to some place exotic but don't know where to begin, the first thing I can do is recommend you pick up the phone and call All Travel Advantage. I plan on using him for some time. He is an amazing resource and has a wealth of knowledge. Use him - you won't regret it.

Now that we are back to reality I want to post about the fantastic trip we had to Costa Rica - our first time. We booked our trip through Rob Ahrens / All Travel Advantage by Dream Vacations. I told him what our budget and ideal dates were and he came up with several options before landing on the Westin Reserva Conchal. We traveled with 2 adult kids (ages 18 and 20). Right from the start of landing at Liberia Airport we had great customer service. EVERYONE is so friendly and helpful.

We saw great wild life, had fabulous excursions on the island every other day (in between some R&R).

Day 1: - Hiking to the waterfalls
- Tubing down the Colorado River
- Lunch at a Costa Rican restaurant
- Zip-lining

Day 2: - Hiking in the rainforest to see the sloths, the red-eye tree frog
- Demo and tasting of traditional coffee making
- Demo of tasting of Costa Rican chocolate making
- Lunch at a Costa Rican restaurant

Day 3: - ATVs for each of us for 2 hours around the local town and beaches

Overall, I give Costa Rica a 5 out of 5 for the following reasons:
1. The most friendly country I’ve even been to - everyone was genuinely happy to serve us and grateful for tourism to give them jobs.
2. Great food for an all-inclusive
3. Unlike when we’ve traveled to Hawaii or Mexico, we never had to get out early to find a beach or a pool chair - it was easy any time of the day - AND we were told they were at 90% capacity.

Even though it rained a lot, it never hindered our vacation - often it was even at night and was cool to see the lightning and hear the thunder that we are not accustomed to. If I had to complain about anything, it was simply the fact that the sun sets too early! Around 6:07 pm daily during July, but I hear it’s like that all year round since they are so close to the equator.

This Beaumont Travel Agency put together a stellar short vacation for us. We had airport transfers, tours, flights, and hotels all set up by our agent Rob Ahrens. He sat down with us and asked us questions, made suggestions, and put together a 3 day packed Rome vacation. We ate, drank, and toured Rome in 72 hours! Rob was instrumental in coordinating everything for our Globus vacation to Scotland. He is extremely knowledgable about European travel and made the whole process seamless from beginning to end. He followed up with us regularly to be sure we were prepared. We really appreciated him always being available for any questions and advice.
