A true staple of Barstow’s history and impressive railroad operations! The property features ceaseless opportunities for photogenic creative visions to flourish. We intended to visit the Route 66 & NASA Museum while here. Unfortunately, both were closed, one deemed indefinitely.

Greatly preserved with some history of the building in its walls. The second floor is dedicated to more exhibits, mostly about NASA and related to science. The entrance is free

The building was built in 1911, you definitely can see the style of elements of this era from this building. This was a complex train depot and hotel with high standards. The golden age of America trains left the shadows in this building.

Just had my wedding here at the Harvey House. The beauty of the Venue can’t be expressed! We loved how our wedding looked….. the process of the wedding is another story!
Venue was disgusting the day of my wedding!
They were supposed to set up and clean the floors for us the morning of nothing was done!
Not only was nothing done but my Wedding Coordinator Christine with Onyx Entertainment had to clean up from a previous party, mop, sweep, and decorate only hours before my wedding? thank god she is AMAZING and pulled it off!!!!
When I called the Cora Harper Fitness Center they sent over a woman who was very helpful, but Josie who I was supposed to be working with never came to do the walkthrough as she promised. The walk through was supposed to be done at 8 she never came.
After cleaning and setting up my own chairs my wedding did turn out absolutely stunning just be ready to stay on constant communication as the lady name is Josie…. who is in charge of the location is very disorganized.

Love the history of the Harvey house and how it sparked the hospitality and hotel scene. Great place to stop to see how travelers use to get from point A to point B before vehicles. Also cool train museum next door where you can get on a locomotive.

This is a beautiful building, standing as a symbol of the Westward progression of the European settlers who founded this country. Constructed in 1885, it is one of the original Harvey House railside inns/restaurants/saloons. Though it stood long abandoned by all but hobos seeking shelter & local young people seeking adventure, in more recent years is has been lovingly restored to a good degree of it's original splendor. It is worth a visit for it's beauty, alone, but the Space Communication Center and the Route 66 Museum truly make this a destination.

It was closed due to the holidays but had train cars and a couple locomotives u can look at. Only sad part is that u can see that there was vandalism on several train cars. The building is nice piece of history that is beautiful to look at.
