I had a cocktail/black tie 40th birthday party on September 15 and I am so glad I went with A Catered Event. Scott Himes and the rest of his team were so wonderful to work with. He was very flexible, respectful, and patient with me. He was very responsive to my emails and phone calls. I wanted a vegan party and their chef Rebecca came up with a very delightful menu. We scheduled a tasting and was sold. My guests and I enjoyed the food. I liked that the meals were clean and healthy yet very savory and tasty. These guys were a delight to work with. They are very passionate about exceeding the customer's expectations. I had a great experience with them. I 100% recommend them and would use them again. You could tell so much love and creativity went into creating the menu and preparing the food.

Horrible!! I should have read the reviews and made a decision from there because the reviews are very accurate... I hired them to bartend my wedding and the service was horrible. I got married back in September and I’m still receiving complaints about the service. The bartender refused to give one guest that I know of a water told her that she had to get permission then asked a random guest for permission. We bought our alcohol separately and only paid them to serve. The server was responsible for being the alcohol because we were told that only they could handle it and she refused to bring the alcohol in. Several guest complained that she made them feel obligated to give a tip when the according to the venue no money was to chant hands at all for alcohol and I had to purchase and sign an agreement saying so. In addition all the make you automatically pay the server for 5 hours even though she only actually worked maybe 2 hours. So basically she got paid for doing nothing because the little bit of time that she did work she was providing this horrible service to the guests... by the way her name is Natasha so if you do book with them and you get her then you might want to tell them that you want someone else. I emailed Scott Himes who’s the coordinator about the complaints and to date I haven’t received a reply so clearly they don’t care either.

After a year and a half of wedding planning this was easily the most unpleasant experience. Our venue requires bartenders from a preferred list. My Mother contacted A Catered Event to inquire about bartenders the owner asked her to come in for a meeting. When she left she called me and told me they wanted us to break contracts with all our vendors and go with them for everything. I decided I would handle it from here. I called the owner and let him know that we wouldn’t be breaking contracts but we are interested in bartenders and servers. The owner continued to argue with me about his company handling everything. I was in shock eventually when he was berating and insisting I said “I’m sorry I feel like I’ve offended you” he stopped and asked what service I was interested in from him. He told me I would need 7 servers for 5 hours for 150 people at a buffet style wedding. I advised that I wasn’t comfortable with that. I did not see the value in paying 7 people to clear 150 plates for 5 hours and that I have someone else doing set up so they wouldn’t need to. The owner got upset again and told me the best he would do is 3 servers for 4 hours which I thought was resonable. I asked him to send a quote and we got off the phone. He called me back 5 minutes later and asked our headcount again and hung up. A few days later I didn’t get a quote so I sent him an email and started looking for a different vendor. The owner sent me a curt message back with a quote. He emailed me a few hours later asking if I got it. I advised I had and asked about deposits. He required 50% down and a 500 dollar deposit to hold on top of the price I was quoted until after the event. Not a single other vendor has asked for anything like this. For the next few days, every day, he called me asking if I had the quote finally I let him know I was getting other quotes and going over things and I would get back to him. That’s the day he stopped calling. I did go with another vender that has been pleasant from start to finish. Every single company I spoke to about servers told me I was being taken advantage of with what this man was requesting of me. They all offered 2 servers and a captain. I can’t speak on the work that they do obviously but the customer service is terrible. I felt bullied and uncomfortable. I’m not sure why he thinks someone would work with him when they are treated that poorly. Maybe someone else should handle clients.

Very unprofessional, they were extremely adamant about a time and date to pick up our items and upon arrival they hadn’t even pulled them from their warehouse. We paid for a bartender who showed up late to my wedding and wasn’t set up before the reception started, tried to recruit my 9yearold niece to help set up the bar. I’m all about feeding my vendors but don’t go get food before my guests and shut down the bar so you can sit and eat AT THE BAR IN VIEW OF MY GUESTS! The bartender also was unable to keep up with less than 60 guests, my buddy served more drinks than she did. On top of it all she closed up half of the bar before last call, which has an hour and a half before the end of the reception (time I paid for) then refused to serve me a soda that I paid for. In summary DO NOT USE THIS CATERING COMPANY
