I recently spent two amazing weeks at the Alaska Adventure Southeast fishing lodge, and I can't say enough good things about our experience there. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this place was special. Cleanliness is always a priority for me when I travel, and the lodge met this standard without question. Our cabin was impeccably clean, and the entire property was well-maintained. One of the standout features of the lodge is their commitment to making sure every guest has a fantastic fishing experience. Whether you're an experienced angler or a complete beginner, they have you covered. They provided high-quality fishing gear for all types of fishing, and their staff was incredibly helpful and patient. As someone new to this kind of adventure, I was a bit nervous, but the staff went out of their way to make sure I felt comfortable. They shared their knowledge about the gear and the best fishing spots, ensuring we were well-prepared for our fishing trips. A memorable moment was when I mentioned that I tend to get seasick. They immediately recommended a charter trip on a day when seasickness was less likely. Thanks to their advice, I not only avoided discomfort but also had a fantastic time catching my first lingcod and halibut. We absolutely loved our time with Adventure Alaska! This was our first trip to POW and it definitely won’t be our last. The housing was incredibly nice, the provided gear was great, the fish were LARGE, and our guides were phenomenal. We had a great time doing a mixture of self guided fishing/crabbing, going out with the guides, and exploring the island in the provided vehicles. So grateful for Luther and the rest of the team making sure that the larger group we went with all were enjoying their time and catching fish. We are looking forward to coming back as soon as we can!

What an unbelievably awesome stay we had with Adventure Alaska! Luther and his whole crew were amazing hosts, and they have truly thought of everything! The accommodations were so amazing, but it was tough to want to stay inside with everything there is to do on the island! All of the things we did were exciting and surrounded by beautiful scenery. Alaska is truly beautiful, and the sleepy little town of Thorne Bay was a needed respite from the hustle and bustle of normal, busy life. From fishing to whale watching, hikes and history, there’s something for everyone on Prince of Whales Island! Catching King Salmon and seeing Orcas were some of my personal favorite memories. I can’t wait to come back and make more memories!!

The team at Adventure Alaska have thought of everything. Their facilities and equipment are awesome and set you up for a week of adventuring you will never forget. Be sure to book the guided fishing. They know the area like the back of their hand and will put you on fish! The hosts treat you like family. You’ll be dreaming about going back the minute you are on the plane ride home.

Amazing week! It was our first trip to Alaska so we tried to experience as many things as we could. June weather was fantastic. We enjoyed fishing, hiking, scenic drives, seeing all the wildlife, canoeing, beach combing, a float plane and ferry ride, and so much more. Every interaction with the staff was outstanding. The facilities were very nice, clean, and spacious. Luther and team shared helpful insights on shrimping & crabbing, fishing, and places to visit so we could do things on our own. All the equipment (truck, boat, fishing gear, and shrimp/crab pots) allowed us to personalize our experience. Great way to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday! We didn't want to leave and are ready to go back.

What a wonderful trip and great group of folks. 4 of us friends arrived and had big plans to fish hard all week. If you do some research, ask questions, and plan to put in some work, you can have the adventure of a lifetime. Whenever we had a question or concern; Luther, Danny, Dan, Emma and any other staff we approached jumped on it immediately and addressed it. Our rental boat had a cracked head gasket and during a motor swap, we were told we would be comped a fully guided day while it was repaired. Seemed fair to us! Dan was a great captain and mentor and gave us plenty of tips to increase our catch.
We came home with #450 lb of fish after our week.

We just finished our 2nd trip with Adventure Alaska Southeast and it was an amazing trip once again. The staff is amazing, the charter trip put us on a ton of fish, the accommodations are clean and spacious, and the provided equipment was nice. If you are planning an Alaskan fishing trip I couldn’t recommend Adventure Alaska Southeast more, We will be back soon!

As part of a large group (family & friends), the team at Adventure Alaska was attentive to cater to all our different needs! Some of us weren’t interested in fishing every day, but there was still plenty to do—hiking trails nearby, towns to visit (with an incredible scenic drive!!), searching for critters like sea otters, sea lions, porpoises, orcas, and even whales, canoeing and kayaking, and historic landmarks like caves and native burial grounds to explore and learn about. We were never without something to do. The weather ended up being mostly sunny while we were there, but I was thankful I packed plenty of different options for clothing (sunscreen and bug spray is a must). Our living areas were comfortably furnished with plenty of room and in a central location. From the moment we arrived, everything was clean and tidy. Since we were staying in the quad we had our own washer and dryer for each unit which we definitely used. I can’t think of anything that would have made this experience better—getting to eat our freshly caught king salmon, halibut, and lincod a couple nights, and even trying fresh caught shrimp (I preferred it cooked though ?) was a huge highlight for everyone. Each and every experience we had was incredible, thanks to the charter captains and the staff at Adventure Alaska. Without them, I wouldn’t have had the courage to try many of these things for the first time, and this trip wouldn’t have been possible for our group!
