I went on their "Vision of Alaska" tour. This was an incredible small group tour. There were 11 guests in my group. With a small group, we were able to go places that the large tour buses were not, and our guide was able to adjust our schedule when needed for weather. We often stayed in very nice small hotels. We traveled in a large van. Our amiable guide, Lyle, is a retired teacher from Alaska, and was a fountain of information about life there. The many highlights of trip included a guided hike on a glacier, a tour and hike at Denali Park, and the scenic train ride from Anchorage to Seward. Parts of the tour were personalized to accommodate the varied interests of the guests.

First time doing a tour of any kind so my expectations were a little low as I wasn’t the most social of people and wasn’t sure about spending 10 days with a group of people I didn’t know, however I wanted a trip where I didn’t have to drive and rent vehicles and activities were booked for me. My tour guide was Dorothy and ex teacher and her knowledge was outstanding, not only of Alaska, but of life and anything you could throw her way. She was one of the most insightful and inspiring people I’ve met. If plans needed to be changed she took care of it for us, she kept us (over) fed with the best food, snacks, drinks, and a beautiful agenda. As far as the other guests, I was blessed with some of the most amazing guests and groups I’ve met. By the end of the tour there were some long hugs and teary eyed goodbyes, from Dorothy, to our Aussies, to Grandma & Grandpa, to my adopted family, to the sweetest family from LA. I was asked my favorite tour I went on, but it wasn’t the upgrades, it was honestly reconnecting at ā€œfamily dinnersā€ each night and sharing the days adventures. So thankful for everything, especially Dorothy, and for Melissa grouping us all together.

Just got back from the Pride of Alaska 7 day tour. BEST VACATION EVER! My husband and I were lucky enough to be traveling with 11 of the nicest and easiest going people EVER... and our guide Lyle, was amazing! Born and raised in Alaska, he knew the answers to all of our questions. He took us to great places to eat, you will not go hungry. We won the lottery as far as weather and got to see absolutely everything we wanted to see... even saw 4 species of whales on our last day! We made friends for life in this trip and we couldn't recommend AAU and Lyle more!! Would like to get the same group together in 5 years and do it all again!

Our trip with Alaska Adventures Unlimited was nothing short of extraordinary. From the very beginning, every detail was thoughtfully curated to reflect our interests and priorities. The team went above and beyond to ensure that our adventure through Alaska was both comfortable and unforgettable.

The scenery and wildlife were absolutely breathtaking. One of the standout moments was the helicopter ride to the glacier, followed by an exhilarating fixed-wing plane tour—both offering views that felt straight out of a dream. We especially loved the dog sledding experience, both on the glacier and on the wheeled cart at the dog center. It was thrilling and heartwarming all at once.

Another unforgettable highlight was horseback riding through the Alaskan wilderness, where we truly felt immersed in nature. From mountains to valleys, forests to open tundra, we felt like we saw it all. The diversity of experiences made us feel like we got a true taste of Alaska.

Our accommodations, restaurants, and transportation were all comfortable and well-arranged, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy the beauty around us. We felt safe, well cared for, and completely at ease the entire trip.

A special shoutout goes to our amazing tour guide, Jaime Smith. Jaime, a retired teacher who grew up in Alaska, brought a depth of knowledge and passion for the land and its culture that truly enriched our experience. He was funny, personable, punctual, and attentive to every detail. As the tour went on, it genuinely felt like we had our own personal guide, with how attuned he was to our individual interests.

In every way, Alaska Adventures Unlimited exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend them to anyone wanting to experience the best of Alaska. Thanks to their expertise and care, we were able to fully soak in the majesty of the Last Frontier.

We loved our experience with them. We went ziplining, on glacier tours and many amazing day trips and it felt like a V.I.P. experience but was affordable. Vacation if a lifetime, not exaggerating.

Close to Wasilla and super private and quiet. The staff were super accommodating and helped us find off season fishing opportunities and made our stay comfortable. Stairs a little steep to the upstairs, but not a deal breaker. It got easier as the week progressed:) Rooms and beds were clean and comfortable. Spending a week there was lovely. Judd and staff were very friendly.

First I will begin with acknowledging we were there at the time Denali park was closed due to forest fires 😭. Of course that is beyond anyone’s control. That being said we were not overly impressed with the tour as a whole. Accommodations were good at most places but the Crows Nest cabins were subpar. Definitely not the deluxe we payed for. The room was bare bones with bathroom door that you could not shut and minuscule wall heater that put out no heat. We actually went to bed very cold and bundled up. While most of the tours we booked were very enjoyable there was still quite a bit of wasted time in the van. We felt we would have been much better off had we gone with our first instincts and rented a car and traveled on our own.
