I took this trip about 14 years ago with a friend and it was amazing, this summer I was able to take the trip again with my niece, brother and boyfriend. It was quite foggy in the morning, but burned up as expected with the sunshine. It was a GLORIOUS day — to watch my niece and partner see whales for the first time was so so special! ❤️ Captain Glen was incredibly informative as we moved through the sound and to and from Juneau. First Mate Jessica was incredibly helpful, kind and overall gracious host! Both provided great information about the local wildlife and about what we were seeing. Captain Glen was patient and allowed the boat time to quietly watch whales — all in all this day we saw about 10-12 humpbacks, dozens of porpoises, seals and sealions, and more bald eagles than I could possibly count. The boat had binoculars to lend to passengers so that you could participate in the spotting and watching for wildlife. In addition to a wonderful trip, the morning ‘snack’ was a freshly baked muffin about the size of a large grapefruit, and a super delicious apple. AND the return meal was a salmon chowder that was to die for… honestly maybe the best chowder I’ve ever had. The overall welcome we received on the boat and on the bus into Juneau and throughout the day was absolutely worth it! It was an adventure of a lifetime that I’ve now been able to do twice, and would absolutely do again in the future!

Amazing crew, the most adorable we ever have!
Very knowledgable and they share many info on the wildlife we encountered during the cross to Junneau.
You can clearly see that Captain Glen and Jessica love their job!
Were able to see many humpback whales, tones of seals laying on rocks and taking a dip in the water! And so many bald eagles!
The breakfast was a really tasty big muffin with a delicious little apple and coffee/tee. As vegetarians, dinner was not good for us but that's ok.
In Junneau we saw a black bear walking in a stream while we were in the bus returning to the boat, fun!

Last weekend I took a day trip from Skagway to Juneau and I can only say that it was totally worth it and I would highly recommend it to friends. The captain was incredibly knowledgeable and took us to see whales, seals, and eagles, and explained the glaciers, buildings, landmarks, and even the passing fishing boats! Truly impressive!

Another crew member was also very attentive, offering coffee and tea as soon as we boarded, and handing out binoculars and maps. On the way back, I had put on my headphones and was resting with my eyes closed when I was suddenly awakened by a fellow passenger. As it turned out... she was standing next to my seat, and started serving delicious bread and soup (yes, while the captain was still diligently providing commentary, haha).

We were very lucky to have great weather that day, which made the Juneau day trip experience fantastic. But even if the weather hadn't been so good, the service alone was exceptional. Five stars, highly recommended, and I will definitely be back!

Captain was knowledgeable and shared information coming and going. He took time to slow down and almost stop so we could see whales and seals and sea otter. Explained how the fishing boats were operating. First mate was sweet and helpful. It was a great trip

Who knew that our ferry ride from Haines to Juneau would be one of the highlights of our week in Alaska? A smooth, comfortable ride, experienced, attentive staff, the beautiful shoreline, historic lighthouses, sea lion pups and breaching whales (sorry it's fuzzy)--all made it a trip to remember. Next time up north we'll plan to do it again.

We walked in while they were on the phone cancelling all their tours of the day due to extreme weather conditions, so we didn’t get to have their service. However, they were very helpful and provide us with great resources and information about whale watching and touring sites. Will try them out again next time we visit.

Wonderful boat ride to Juneau. Very nice inside to stay out of the rain. We were served muffins mid- morning on the way to Juneau and clam chowder on the way back. We saw whales! , otters, sea lions, eagles, puffins and more. Great boat excursion and wonderful captain and crew!
