We recently had the pleasure of taking a private kayaking tour around Ketchikan with Tim from the Alaska Kayak Company, and it was an unforgettable experience for our family. With two young sons, ages 1 and 3, we were looking for a family-friendly adventure that would allow us to explore the true beauty of Alaska off the beaten track.

Tim was absolutely amazing with our boys. His patience and enthusiasm made the trip enjoyable for everyone. He captivated our 3-year-old with fascinating stories about the Alaskan wilderness, sparking a sense of wonder and curiosity. Tim’s knowledge and passion for the area were evident, and he took us to some truly stunning, secluded islands that showcased the pristine beauty of Alaska.

We had the best experience, even in the rain! Tim had all the gear to keep us dry and had so much info to share, plus a delicious snack at the end. Our two teenagers loved the trip. Tim was absolutely spectacular as a host of our kayak tour. We loved the small group size of just our family, and he had everything ready for a smooth and fun outing, from equipment to rain gear to gourmet snacks and hot drinks! He was absolutely tremendous and flexible in adjusting for my kiddos as the outing went on. Truly personable and warm. We had cold weather but still a great time!

Very patient, knowledgeable, and entertaining. And they made a terrific lunch for us too. Highly recommend this company.

I came across Alaska Kayak Company when searching for a small, local company to tour the waters of Ketchikan with. The day couldn’t have been better! Tim was the perfect guide and host for the day. He met our family of four at the pier and within minutes we were on our way in his boat, away from the crowds. It was a beautiful sunny day and the kayaking was spectacular. Tim’s passion for the water, land, and wildlife is evident and we enjoyed learning about everything he had to share! Perfect day in Ketchikan!
