Absolute 10/10 experience! One of the best weeks of my life, hands down. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Alaska Outdoors!!!

Simply put, Mark is Mr. Alaska! Mark definitely went the extra mile to ensure safety, comfort and enjoyment. He planned the trip perfectly, from travel to meals to activities. Mark is truly skilled in being a guide.

The campgrounds were terrific. I found them clean, comfortable and in a pleasant setting. My favorite campgrounds were in Denali National Park during our first two nights. The scenic views and landscape down the road were amazing. I felt we got a true taste of camping in the wilderness! The meals were fantastic, honestly better than expected. Campers like myself would not expect such delicious food, especially to be cooked by their tour guide every meal. Mark prepared everything from fresh salmon and halibut to Dutch-oven lasagna.

I got a chance to participate in all the activities I wanted to. Mark was amazing in coordinating all the activities I expressed interest in, from white water rafting to zip lining to dog mushing. By far, my favorite activity was the helicopter into dog mushing. One of the top 10 experiences in my life and a dream come true. Later that day, I went on the wildlife sea cruise. An amazing overall day and I’m truly grateful for that opportunity! Also hiking was comfortable and everyone could go at their own pace. Really some breathtaking nature to see, from Mount Denali to ice glaciers.

Truly grateful to Mark and his family for this week in Alaska! Amazing time and I will definitely return!

Every aspect of this trip was executed to perfection. I thought the hole trip was great value, and I would book another trip with Alaska Outdoors in the future. We were a group of 9 that all wanted to do different activities, and everyone was able to be where they wanted, on time, for as long as needed. The guide was able to clearly communicate what our options or activities were for the next day and how that would impact meal and travel schedules. Alaska Outdoors was an amazing host and provided hot meals in camp. The guide was able to cook amazing dinners on a camp stove that I don’t know that I would have been able to execute in my own kitchen. The guide’s knowledge about the wildlife, plants, and history of the area really added to the experience. I was on the fence about taking a helicopter trip to visit the dogs sleds out of Seward, I didn’t think it would be interesting. I was told it was “pretty cool” and worth checking out, so we did. That helicopter ride and hanging out with the dogs was one of the highlights of the trip. That was an activity I would never have gotten to experience without the suggestion from our guide and I’m grateful. I can’t say enough good things about the trip, organization, or the guide. The only downside is that in the future I don’t know if I would be able to do a group trip like this because it wouldn’t be able to match the experience, I had with Alaska Outdoors.

Thoroughly enjoyed our trip with this company! We went on spectacular hikes, ate delicious food, stayed at beautiful campsites, and enjoyed great conversation and tons of laughs with our guides and the other people on the tour. We commented SEVERAL times during the trip about how glad we were that we went with this company as opposed to a larger corporation. The guides were so knowledgeable and personable and we feel like they gave us a true Alaskan experience that was so much more than we would have gotten on a cruise. We will definitely use this company again when we go back!

My wife and I just spent a week on the wilderness glacier tour and had an amazing time. Or guide "J" John is any authentic AK woodsman right down to the wilderness cabin he is building with his own hands. A highly experienced guide with the answers to your questions and references to back up his stories. As an experienced outdoorsman myself, having Alaska Outdoors deal with all of the logistics and preperations was well worth the best travel value in AK!

We had an INCREDIBLE trip with Alaska Outdoors. Our trip was as recent as June of 2022 and we were on the "Classic Alaska Tour". Mark was great with answering all questions before we got to AK, with communicating despite the time difference ahead of the trip, with developing a great itinerary and including activities that we wanted to do. Also worth mentioning - Mark is very knowledgeable and has lived in Alaska - unlike several of the other similar outfitters who just seemed like travel agents who outsource to a local expert like Mark either way. Do yourself the favor and go directly to the local expert. Our guide Pitts absolutely made our trip. He was extremely knowledgeable on every area we were in - and AK in general. He very organized with everyone's schedules. We felt safe with him as our guide and he was just fun to be around. We had a great group from all over the USA and a solo traveler from Australia which was neat. All the hotels (before/after the trip that Mark recommended) and activities recommended to us were VERY FUN/nice. The camping gear and sites we had were great! My husband and I went for our honeymoon so it was nice having the camping experience (which we like at home) but it was made doable in AK and honeymoon (or beginner) friendly. It was the right amount of rustic but had all of the help with cooking meals, planning the agenda, getting the best/hard to get camp sites, and gear up there without having to lug it around, etc. Something that completely exceeded my expectations was how great the food was, the variety each day, and the attention to individual people's likes/dislikes. We always had fresh fruit and vegetables. For breakfast always the classics bagels, pastries, cereals, yogurt but some other meals were breakfast burritos, reindeer sausage scramble, French toast with sausage and hash browns - all while camping. Lunch was mostly sandwiches and salads, but a great variety of breads, wraps, lunch meats, cheeses, salads, veggies and fruit and chips/pretzels, cookies, nuts, etc. For dinner a few examples were salmon with veggies and garlic bread, carnitas tacos with all the fixings one night, burger night and every night there was a dessert which my husband was very happy about. Overall we had a wonderful trip, made great friends with the group, and had a fantastic last week of our honeymoon. Thank you so much Mark, Pitts and Alaska Outdoors!!! You rock!!

Mark and his team are nothing short of amazing! We did the Grand Alaska Combo Tour which included the Classic Alaska and Glaciers Mountains Fjords Tours. Our first week was spent traveling through Seward and Denali National Park. We had a GREAT time!

Unfortunately, during the second week of the trip we found out that part of our group had been potentially exposed to COVID. Upon finding out, Mark (the owner of the company) immediately notified us and offered suggestions for the group to decide what was best for each individual. He went above and beyond to try to find a solution that would work for everyone. Ultimately, the group decided to end the trip early and Mark was extremely accommodating in getting everyone back to where they needed to go. His plan of action kept everyone safe (our group and those around us) and thankfully no one became sick.

Alaska Outdoors is what small businesses should strive to be like...accommodating, thoughtful, helpful, and kind. We will absolutely be touring with them in the future and cannot recommend Mark and his team enough!

I was on the trip that was canceled on the second day because of prior covid exposure. I was also on the prior week trip where I was exposed to covid. That whole week was great, I experienced new places, met new people, ate great food prepared by a funny knowledgeable leader.

I have to agree with Josh and La Gi, Mark handled the news of a covid exposure responsively, instead of ignoring the news so we could continue in ignorance he told everyone and gave us options. He did not give us the option to continue as if nothing had happen and that is to be commended. Not only was he concerned about our safely but the safety of the various communities that we would have visited.

Even in non- covid times, travel to outlying areas of Alaska carries certain risks and to manage the risks he recommends travel insurance. What happens if you break a leg hiking in Denali, which might mean a very expensive flight back to Anchorage? The moral of the story as it relates to additional costs that are not the responsibility of the outfitter, is to purchase trip insurance including trip interruption especially during these trying times

Our Alaska Outdoors adventure was excellent. We had a well planned schedule that was kept to. The meals, accommodations and lodging we superb. Our guide, Pitts, did a fantastic job and was very informative and knew all the good spots for viewing and local knowledge. We had an amazing experience and highly reccomend Alaska Outdoors. Many of the people we met up north said we are seeing and doing more than they have, and they live in Alaska!!
