We had an absolute awesome experience with Teddy! I highly highly recommend you ask for him. He had some tricks up his sleeve to get the eagles to come right next to us. This is our second visit to Ketchikan and he made it very memorable. I do believe without Teddy this would not have been as good as a tour. Also we paid $200 CASH for a family of four to go so not terribly priced. I would 100% do this again but only with him as our guide.

Larry the guy that sold us the tour said a lot of interesting things but everything felt really rushed.
We didn't stop at Creek St or the river like they said we would. We did stop at a few places but they were an old building with a demonstration on wood carving, a bridge on the side of the road to look at a hatchery from a far, and a totem park. We drove through town 3x.

Our tour guide Bruce talked a bunch and said he was making up stories on the go.

The best thing on this tour was they did drop us off at Ward Port where our cruise ship was, so we didn't have to wait in an hour line for the busses.

We had not planned to do a tour on Ketchikan, but after we walked through town and through some neighborhoods, we decided we wanted to see more. They had room, so we took the tour. Our guide was funny and full of interesting information. We stopped many places and had plenty of time to explore and take photos. I feel like we saw Ketchikan the way the natives would, not like tourists. The only problem with our tour was one of the persons taking the tour. The guide would say, after he had talked us around the highlights and we had been out exploring, "We have to leave in about 10 minutes, so don 't wander too far off." One female passenger would take off at that point and we would all be waiting for her after the 10 minutes had passed. The guide was very patient. At the end, we had the option of going to the dock or getting off in town. We had blonde beer at the Asylum! My husband and I both enjoyed ourselves.

My husband and I loved our tour of Ketchikan with Teddy! He took us to an Eagle Clan building first to be introduced to totem pole stories and understanding and we got to try yummy salmon dip on crackers! Then, he drove us all around the town telling us facts about bald eagles, salmon spawning, and Ketchikan history! The highlight of the trip was when we stopped and he tossed some fish towards the sky and many bald eagles flew down to catch and eat them. It was absolutely beautiful to see so many of them soaring freely! He closed our trip with Rainbow Falls and the Totem park where he shared real, accurate history about the totems and culture surrounding them. He gave us the option to be dropped off at Creek Street or to be taken back to our port. We chose Creek St., of course!

We would definitely book with Sourdough Tours again! You can definitely tell Teddy loves his job and his town! We would go anywhere with him!

If I could give a zero I would. Total scam. Was told a motorcoach...OLD BLUE RATTLETRAP BUS! Was told funny, great tour guide (Bruce), the guy just goes on about the good old days and how things were way better before tourists. Seriously, this will be a tour (questionable) that we will NEVER forget. WORST TOUR AND GUIDE EVER! Very sad

It’s a scam! For quite a few hundred dollars( family of 4), we got to go to shopping traps!

Completely waste of money and time.

We got off the ship and did not have a booked excursion. So we
talked to the booth guy who talked us into it.
My intention is warn
people and they don’t repeat my
mistake.

I wish I had looked at the review before committing our precious time we had

This excursion is falsely advertised! We were told it was a wildlife tour. We did not see any wildlife. They took us to a building first for a demonstration and I’m not clear what the demonstration’s focal point was. One lady mentioned the four taxidermy animals that were there as being wildlife you might see on the island, and the other mentioned totem carving. The only beneficial information we got was a way to remember the 5 types of salmon, but they could’ve discussed this during the bus drive on the way to see salmon. It seemed to be more of a marketing scheme to buy the smoked salmon dip that they had to sample. The next stop was the totem park which was the only interesting stop on this trip , but still was not wildlife focused. We went to Herring Cove last, and it was rushed. Basically walked to the bridge and said, no bears are here, and got back onto the bus in about 15 minutes total time. They said we would be back by 3, but it was 3:15 so keep this in mind if you’re on a cruise.
