Wow, driving by this unassuming hotel I didn’t think much of it but when we had to get out of a 4-night stay down the road at a gross Motel 6 I looked this place up & saw the favorable reviews. We lucked out when I called and they just had a cancellation so there was a room available. Raj on the phone was very helpful giving me as much information as I needed over the phone and even said we could do an early check in (for a small $15 fee). I even explained how we had to leave the last place because of the awful smoke smell. He assured me we wouldn’t have that issue here. When we arrived Raj was at the front desk working. He said to me “Before you pay, let me take you to your room so you can thoroughly inspect it to make sure it’s to your liking”. They had just cleaned it but he wanted to go out of his way to make sure we’d be happy because of our experience down the road. Amazing. Sure enough, the room was perfectly clean as he said it would be. Throughout our stay he would constantly ask us how everything was and even asked about the Soundside festival we were in town for. Pretty unprecedented customer service for a hotel like that. The location is great as well. Right by the freeway but not so close you hear it at all. Inside the room you get a nice cold fridge, a microwave, a large tv & a table w/ chairs. The queen sized bed was comfortable. The pillows left a lot to be desired but they did fine. The bathroom is small and the sink is outside of it, which was no matter to us. In fact it’s nice you can shower while someone else uses the sink and not have to be in each other’s way. The water pressure was amazing as well. Too many hotels have pathetic water pressure. Not the issue here at all. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at American Inn. Very highly recommended!

We love it here! Easy access to I-95. This is our third trip to go to Hammonasset State Park and we discovered the Clinton Prime Outlets this trip. The motel is very clean, the beds super comfortable, and the staff very welcoming. We will definitely be returning

Great place to stay. We'd stay here again and again. Our room was very clean and our bed very comfortable. The shower had plenty of full pressure, full flow hot water.

Room was clean and neat. Had a table with 2 chairs (so rare these days), everything worked as it should, and the rooms are drive up. The management was courteous, attentive, and friendly.

We had a wonderful stay at this simple, clean, lovingly-maintained inn. It appears to be family-owned, and it shows in the superb maintenance of the facilities. If we are coming this way, we will definitely stay here again!

American Inn. In Branford, Ct. Was a delightful surprise. The staff is a welcoming family. They take pride in the motel. The rooms are extremely clean and maintained. It is great for jumping on and off 95. Price was responsible, with comfortable beds, refrigerator, and microwave. I recommend this enjoyable stay.

Positive: I like how clean it was there was a crack in the wall but everything was clean and well kept even the fridge Negative: I didn?t like that the spring mattress was a little hard and the ac does not stay on all night. It goes as low as 66 which was not a problem but it would turn off periodically instead of staying on the entire time so I was hot

This was an absolutely Amazing find! Just passing through and needed a place to sleep. Clean and Comfortable / Awesome Soft blankets on Comfy beds / Best water pressure we experienced our entire trip / microwave and mini fridge in room / air conditioning worked and wasn't loud / quiet and restful night. 5 Stars and would definitely recommend! Will stay here again if we're ever back in the area.
