The Worst Hotel Experience of My Life – Avoid at All Costs!

I rarely write reviews, but my stay at APA Hotel Woodbridge, NJ was so shockingly bad that I feel obligated to warn others.

From the moment I stepped into the room, I knew I was in for a rough ride. The windows and AC unit had a constant draft, making the room uncomfortably cold no matter how I adjusted the settings. I might as well have been sleeping outside. And just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, I realized the phone line didn’t even work – so much for calling the front desk when I needed help.

The bathroom flush was broken, and the toilet ran non-stop throughout the night, sounding like a leaky faucet from hell. Between the freezing drafts and the constant flushing, sleep was impossible. I genuinely don’t understand how this place is still operating as a hotel.

And here’s the cherry on top: when I politely asked for a cup of black tea, the receptionist bluntly told me they don’t offer that – not even a simple teabag. No apology. No offer of an alternative. Just a “we don’t do that here.” Unbelievable.

This place isn’t just outdated – it’s a nightmare. Save yourself the misery. Stay anywhere else.

It's clearly an older hotel but they've done a good job with general upkeep, no bugs, no mildew, no mold. The room was enormous, and the hotel is mostly quiet. There's a bar in the hotel and a few restaurants, DoorDash is pretty easy because it's close to highways, so anything miles away still arrives pretty quickly.

I didn't do much besides work, but I enjoyed the stay and will be back again.

My only issue is the 21 night stay limit which isn't posted anywhere on their site or communications, so you don't find out until you've already booked for more than 21 nights.

This is the first time I’ve stayed at this hotel chain. I was very optimistic considering my company was paying for this location to my disappointment, though they were little things that were not good such as the toilet lid was a makeshift piece of plastic that didn’t cover the top the toilet didn’t flush properly so I have to open up the lid and find my surprise disgusting messfor the rate. I’m sure it’s considered acceptable. It’s a nice looking hotel from the outside and respectfully it’s nice. The amenity nicely designed there is an iron and the sufficient amount of towels towels were a decent quality. All in all is a four star hotel on the edge of three stars.

Had an early morning business meeting there in one of their banquet rooms. Conveniently located right off the GS parkway in NJ, it's easy to get to. Their continenal breakfast selections were very good, and their coffee was excellent! Their staff were accommodating and nice as well.

I was there to attend a show in Edison (Note: The exhibition center is about a 15 m. drive from the hotel). Happy with the location which is combining a quiet place with fair rooms and general services. A bar and an Asian restaurant are also available for those people which prefer to relax after a business day instead of chasing food options outside.

Hotel is very nice & rooms are beautiful but our bathroom smelled like urine the whole weekend unless we showered to mask the smell , i had to speak to someone twice & the second time nobody came so nothing was done about it ( yes there was other rooms available ) . Tv doesn’t cast or have netflix , disney plus etc . cable kept buffering & freezing so it was hard to watch . Housekeeping came and took our wash cloths but didn’t replace them , i tried to call & no one answered so i had to go downstairs & there was NO line . i had to track them down just to get something to wash wish! parking is terrible , there isn’t enough spaces , cars parked all over the side & it’s hard to get out .

Very good option to stay in Edison / near by - right next to freeway.
No free breakfast but the room prices are lower and worth.
There is a BF kitchen opens in morning and you may pay and take.
Taking 2 star out from service as not even 1 water bottle was provided with room and Ice machine never worked during my stay.
Best part of the hotel is the Bar : its good !

I was there for a weekend convention. Accommodations were better than expected. Room was updated & very clean. Food catering for lunch and dinner was a little slow in replacing empty buffet trays, causing some to not eat what they wanted. Coffee & tea service was excellent.
