This place has a good reputation for a reason! Top food and well worth getting a reservation for. The prices reflect the quality of the place and I happily paid it. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

As for the food:
- The burger? Yes the burger was great but mainly because of that bacon, egg and patty combo. Don’t get it by itself.
- General Jane’s Honey Chicken is well worth giving a try, such good flavour and freshness!
- Everything else was great but not standout

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant in New York! The burger I ordered was absolutely delicious—juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The ingredients were fresh, and every bite was just perfect. The service was also excellent; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed.

The only downside was the wait time—we had to wait about 40 minutes for our food, which was a bit too long. However, once the food arrived, it was definitely worth the wait. If they could speed up the kitchen a little, this place would be perfect.

Overall, I highly recommend this spot for burger lovers. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait, but trust me, it’s worth it!

Hiya we really enjoyed our time here this is the best burger you will get!

My girlfriend and I are visiting new York for the first time and after doing some research of places to visit while here we came across Au Cheval.

The staff are very friendly and the two hosts were super friendly and made us feel welcome immediately after walking through the doors.

Our waitress was super friendly and explained the menu to us by giving some recommendations along the way,

As a starter we got the chicken liver highly recommended!

mains we got the double cheeseburger with bacon and egg also the shave rib sandwich as a side we got the silky whipped potatoes and the Mac and cheese.

Definitely we over ordered but my favourite side was the Mac and cheese and my partner the mash so sorry I would recommend to get just one but it is hard to pick.

Thank you everyone for having us tonight!

Excellent food and service. The host was able to accommodate our party size change and get us all seated. Fun variety of cocktails and of course the burger lived up to the high expectations. Perfectly cooked meat, and highly recommend adding an egg and or bacon. The Cesar salad was dressed perfectly with a generous amount of cheese to top. Overall incredible dining experience!

So today, I had a phenomenal experience at Au Cheval. We made reservations earlier in the week which I highly suggest this place gets pretty packed for dinner. After just waiting for a few minutes, we were taking to our table. And we were greeted by several staff members, which in my opinion, create a welcoming environment. Our waitress, Ariana P. was so friendly and personable. And being that this was our first time, Ariana helped us navigate through the menu.

And now for the food. The hamburger by far reign supreme. And all the sides were perfect the french fries come with a garlic aïoli dipping sauce, which was delicious the mac & cheese was cooked to perfection and the whipped mashed potatoes is a must have. Also, my sisters and I are huge fans of sweet tea and the staff went out of their way to make sure that our sweet tea was definitely the southern sweet tea that we were craving. This place is a must visit for locals as well as out-of-towners.

Came here to have an intimate birthday celebration. Right off the bat, the ambiance was impeccable. Loved the atmosphere and the service was great. Our waitress gave us some fantastic recommendations and kept checking in on us. It did take a very long time for our food to come out. About 45 minutes for our 1 appetizers and then another hour after for our 2 main dishes to come out which were being split. We ordered the steak tartare, burger with bacon and egg, broccoli, and shaved prime rib sandwich. Everything was delicious and the burger was phenomenal. HOWEVER, later that night I came home with severe stomach pains and nausea and spent the night throwing up. The rest of our party that ate the steak tartare also did not feel well- very queasy and nauseous. With that said, while everything tasted good in the moment I’m afraid to say that I don’t think the steak tartare was prepared correctly since everyone that consumed it became sick after. If I were to come back, it would definitely just be for the burger.

HONEST REVIEW: the burger was mid. A quick bite before another engagement. Sat at the bar. We each got the burger with egg and bacon. Fries on the side with the bourbon old fashioned. The burger lacked a *crunch*. Cook the bacon a little longer or cut the pickles a little thicker. The bourbon old fashioned was 10/10. The burger was 7.2/10.

Where’s the texture?

2 burgers, 2 old fashioned, 1 fries, 1 gansett. +tax and tip = $165
