I found Awesome Adventures after a search looking for something fun and different to do while visiting family in Wilmington. Capt Reggie was really easy to work with and answered all my questions and I had a lot since I was traveling solo three kids ages 14,10 and 8. We decided on 5hrs charter and it flew by but was perfect for our first time. The boat was clean and comfortable. There’s a small cooler and small fridge that held our sandwiches and waters. The kids even enjoyed a little tv time below deck while we arrived at our first destination. Capt Reggie was very good with the kids overall and especially helping them to understand how to stay safe on the boat.

On our way out we were lucky enough to see a dolphin and her baby! (video below) We visited two islands the first I forgot the name but it had a swing which the kids loved. One note at this first stop just be very careful with the oyster shells they are mostly deep in the sand but a few can be close to the surface and can be sharp. For very little kids i would suggest water shoes. My kids were totally fine. I did end up with a scrap on my knee from sitting with my knees in the sand.

Both islands had water the kids could safely wade in and play in. My kids can swim but also enjoyed bobbing in the water. Our second stop was Masonboro Island where we spent the remainder of our time. This is a perfect spot! We started out playing in the water close to the boat and enjoyed floating for a bit before taking the short trail barefoot to the ocean side of the island. The beach was gorgeous and empty with a few people scattered here and there. Lots of seashells to pick from and the waves weren’t too rough.

We returned from our 5hr adventure exhausted and with a ton of core memories. My kids said this was the best part of our trip and can’t wait to do it again! It was worth the investment.

Safety, comfort, and fun all around. I give him and his vessel and absolute A+ entertaining our family around Wrightsville Beach. It was the best day and everyone of all ages had an amazing time.

What an awesome way to end my birthday weekend. Captain Reggie is an excellent host and knows how to ensure you have the best experience on the water. I had the best time with my group! Reggie took us to Masonboro island where the surfers go and we were able to go in the water because it was so much warmer than the other beaches in the area. We grilled out on the boat and had such an amazing day exploring the islands and being shown the coastline .

We had such a wonderful time last weekend, we came back this weekend for another adventure! We had a different captain, but she was just as kind, caring, and competent as our first captain. They knew the best “secret spots” to take us. We found great surf, we found excitement, and even found a swing for the kids.
