Barking Zebra Tours guided our Kilimanjaro trek and safari for our group of 14. Without exception, all staff members were professional, caring, attentive, knowledgeable, incredibly hard-working, flexible and patient! Many guides had attended college for botany, wildlife management, tourism or ecology and could provide in depth explanations about all manner of topics- from plant habitat, geology and Tanzanian history to the social behavior of warthogs. No question was left unanswered!

Though we returned from our trip with Barking Zebra two months ago, we have not stopped talking about it! We truly had an incredible trip and every minute was perfect. The Barking Zebra crew cared for us and helped us feel totally at ease. They were professional, welcoming, and genuinely cared that we had a good trip. The itinerary was well thought out and meticulously planned.

Our safari guide, Godson, is a very special human who made our trip so engaging, educational, and FUN! We felt his enthusiasm for the wildlife and he made us feel like we were part of it all. Our 10 year old son and Godson really connected. Not only did we learn a ton about wildlife, environment, history, and culture...we also had many, many laughs! Godson is so passionate about learning every day and sharing his knowledge. His enthusiasm is contagious and his perspective is broad.

We also loved our day hike on Kilimanjaro and dream of returning to summit. My husband and I went on a gorgeous 25 mile bike ride on our last day...icing on the cake.

Along the way we met some great people who we have stayed in contact with. We headed home with a deep appreciation of Tanzania and with many new words and new friends.

Each accommodation was incredible (Nanyukie was our favorite) and the food was wonderful. Even our young son found plenty of foods he liked. Our son also got to learn (attempt) to use a traditional Maasai bow and arrow.

We do hope to return to Tanzania for more adventures including a Kili summit! I close with our favorite new saying (thanks to Godson), “ Poa kichizi kama ndizi ndani ya friji!”

Our family of five, grandparents, son and spouse and 10 year old grandson, was treated to the adventure of a lifetime thanks to the meticulous planning and execution of Ria and her staff at Barking Zebra Tours. Our private expedition included 7 days of safari, and a day hike on Kilimanjaro. Godson, our guide, and Emmanuel and Junaice of the Barking Zebra staff, provided an "Hakuna Matata" experience. Every detail, airport, pickup and transfer, safari, hike, Maasai Boma visit, was flawlessly executed giving us the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the wonder of Tanzania and its people. Lodge and camp selection was superb , and the staffs were amazing. By the end of the safari, we felt as if Godson was part of our family. They are simply the best. I climbed Kilimanjaro and with them and went on safari in the Serengeti immediately after. They picked me up from the airport and expertly assisted me every step of the way until they got me on my return flight. I can't say enough good stuff about these guys. The food was incredible and they took me to see parts of the mountain I never would have a seen if I had gone with another company. I hiked the Northern Circuit.

We just returned from our 8 day Safari with Barking Zebra. What an amazing experience! Our guide Godson was so knowledgeable about every park we visited, every animal, bird and insect! We came back with such an appreciation for wildlife! The camps and lodges we stayed exceded our expectations from the staff to the food to the views! Barking Zebra went above and beyond to give my father and I the safari of a lifetime! The owner of the company Ria Francakova and her staff ensured that every detail of the trip was put into place to ensure the trip went smoothly. It has been a dream of mine to witness the great migration in the Serengeti and I was speechless once I saw the vast number of animals. Our guide Richard ensured we got the most of our experience by allowing me to film and take photos of zebras no matter how many we saw. He even made the trip more memorable by parking the car in the herd where we had lunch. Couldn't imagine a more beautiful view while enjoying a delicious meal. Would highly recommend Barking Zebra Tours to anyone who wants to go on an African safari!

Barking Zebra tours was fantastic! We used them to climb Kilimanjaro and everything was first class. Our guides were professional and very knowledgeable. Thanks to them and the support team we had a 100% summit success. We followed up our climb with a safari and it was even better. The tent camp we stayed in was beyond belief and the food was top notch. I cannot recommend Barking Zebra highly enough and I will eagerly seek them out for future trips.
