A wonderful nonprofit in Milford Connecticut that provides the homeless with food and a place to sleep. We donated leftover entrees from a family holiday party in December. They do great work for the community.

A place to be out of the cold over night staff allows the clients to run the place while this is unprofessional but it's a place out of the cold bring a chair as they won't turn you down but they run out of chairs to sit the cots they have are very few and are taken i guess showing up is half the battle stay safe🤢

They don't help you here they rather help crackheads and or dopeys with criminal records than helping someone with 0 addiction issues or 0 criminal record with a family to take care of like myself. They only let in who they feel like helping very biased based decisions. The staff is literally the definition of useless.

Horrible place, can't sleep in this place. Defeats the whole purpose of helping, and assisting those in need. Asides from this being a "safe place" for those in need and suffering from homelessness this place is super grimey and dirty. Wanting clients to clean the place, but yet again allow clients who are facing what it seems to be chronic homeless mind wellness disease to dwell within others with urine and feces smells in which can affect others health. Also the staff and people who volunteer tend to be very disrespecting towards clients by harassing and talking about the clients with unwanted comments and behaviors. A place who very sponsored by others who care shouldn't be represented this way. With the toilets full of feces and dirty.

I have suffered homelessness for 10 years in CT. I need special medical housing due to my many auto-immune disorders. Many, many years ago, Beth-El almost killed me by giving me two cans of 9+ year old pineapple to eat (I also suffer from chronic renal failure.) I complained in writing to the Milford Health Department and Beth-El retaliated and "86'd" me for life claiming they would " have me arrested and criminally-charged if I ever returned." I have lost track of all the homeless who are now dead because they never received help. The Homeless Industrial Complex is killing homeless Americans and profiting emmensely.

Very little support or supervision of other residents that abused the privilege to be there they would be in the back parking lot getting high n drunk. I was accepted the first week of June 2021 I collect SSA and work part-time I have an emotional support dog who has certification I already had an account for housing vouchers that I was actively working on I was very respectable didn't do anything wrong one of the other residents very racial and would drink almost every day the other resident almost assaulted me in front of staff the next day they just charged both of us I wrote a grievance and I was still denied to come back into the the shelter I desperately needed guidance and help with permanent housing and deposit assistance needless to say I'm back to square one

AS it is good for the community, this soup kitchen like many others offers community service. Yes, they are very busy, with cooking ,and serving food. For someone who needs to complete community service, I have called over 5 times, the director of the soup kitchen (which I said yes they are busy cooking) Yet I have left 5 very nice voicemails, offering to help and asking to complete my community service. till 3 weeks later no call. I have went and , and got turned away cause they didn't have time. Don't offer community service, let alone deny someone to help the homeless. The community service used t be wonderful here
