We were traveling from out of town to attend a funeral. We prefer to support small businesses, and chose the Blaque Butterfly over area hotels. We were so very thankful we did, it did not disappoint! The service was phenomenal. Very professional and personable. From the reservations, to the chef, to the grounds keeper, to the owner himself, we were met with warm Southern hospitality. And there was no comparison to the cleanliness of the Blaque Butterfly! It was extremely clean, neat, and inviting. It felt like “going home.” It reminded us of simpler days and the comfort of our childhood homes. Though it was a great stay for us during a difficult period, we think it would be an amazing place for a retreat, reunion, or any small celebration. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others!

Thanks, Mr. KP for an awesome experience! My husband and I were fortunate enough to have the pleasure of being guests at the Blaque Butterfly for our 28th Anniversary. When I tell you, KP was the host of hosts and our weekend stay did not disappoint. Even though we were the only guests for the two nights, the hospitality did not waiver. KP was gracious enough to cook for the two of us both nights. The steaks were mouth watering and cooked to perfection. The Tuscan soup, vegetables, bread…all of it was delicious. And as a send off, he (and Kira) prepared breakfast for us that was equally delicious. I have already started sharing with friends and family about our experience at the Blaque Butterfly-a true hidden gem. My husband and I are already making plans for a return visit.

How pleased was I. The Blaque Butterfly was a lovely experience. Located on a beautiful gorgeous tree lined property that offers a tucked away spot to relax and get lost in surprising art, elegance, and beautiful artifacts. At every turn I was greeted with beauty that made me smile. Each room is beautifully decorated. The baths rooms are exquisite. The food delicious, beautifully presented, leaving me happy, delightfully, satisfied. This place feels like an elegant summer home. I am already thinking of occasions to return to experience this wonderland again. I love, love, love The Blaque Butterfly.

The neighborhood seemed sketchy but I held hope for the actual venue. The ambiance and decor were immaculate. The food however was horrible. The chef was very sweet and seemed attentive, but she misread a text message and thought my daughter and I didn't eat meat. As a result she served us a pasta dish. That might have sufficed if it were prepared fresh but it was microwaved several times and still served Luke warm. In conversation we discovered she had prepared it for an event earlier in the day. The 2 course meal (iceberg salad and leftover pasta) wasn't worth the 45.00 per person we were charged. Sadly, breakfast was made fresh but just wasn't very good. |The bed and pillows were comfortable but not worth over 200.00 for a shared bathroom and a 20 hour stay. It was also not worth the 4 hour drive. The host we had heard so much about was not hospitable at all. He must have been having a bad day. He barely spoke to us in between his loud conversations on the phone. I would have enjoyed playing the albums in the parlor but the chef's son practiced playing the same song on the piano the entire 3 hours even when tried to listen to music on the phone. My daughter's email has not received a response yet.

We were looking forward to our stay at Blaque Butterfly, however we cancelled a few months prior due to more family members deciding to join us on the trip. There was a miscommunication somewhere along the way, in regard to our cancellation, so we swung by the hotel to chat with someone in person to resolve the issue. We met with KP and he was honestly such a fun guy to talk to. He had an energy and kindness that left us with smiles on our faces.

There was no issue at all, quickly resolved. So although we didn’t stay there, we had a really good experience with the Manager KP and loved the way the place was decorated and how quickly he took care of us. We will definitely book here the next time we visit family in Monticello.

I cannot recommend the Blaque Butterfly enough . We had the most amazing stay and wedding here. KP is such a gracious host and went above and beyond to ensure our stay and special day was everything we wanted and more. The rooms are curated to perfection, the house maintains its history but with modern amenities, and the Monticello square is just a short walk from the property. Ladonna, who is the wedding coordinator is absolutely phenomenal. We could not have had the gorgeous wedding we did without her. She took care of all the details , kept everything on track, and made it the smoothest and most enjoyable experience we could have dreamed of having. If you are looking for a gorgeous venue to have an intimate wedding this is the place for you.

I had the pleasure of staying here and when I tell you it did not disappoint it did not. KP the owner was excellent and very professional. He welcomed my husband and I with open arms. He made us feel very welcomed. The house was lovely and well decorated. The room was lovely and super comfy bed. If your thinking of booking the food go for it! The food was great. I will definitely be going back. This place is a keeper for some real R&R.

My wife and I had a peaceful private celebration for our 47 anniversary, the atmosphere and homely historic surroundings was beautiful. The rooms were comfortable and well presented. The chief was top notch and the dinner & breakfast presentation of the meal was A-1, looking for a bed and breakfast this is a perfect spot. Owners were hands on and very professional.
