This farm is magic. The owners are the nicest people. The horses are so well cared for. The horses are well trained and the sweetest rescues. I recommend this farm for lessons and trail rides above all others in the area. The whole experience is amazing. You can see the difference from farms that just want to take your money. Blue Spruce is not that kind of farm. The team is devoted to their animals and their customers Go feel the love and have an incredible time.

My wife and I went up for trail ride. I did read the reviews but it didn't deter me I came to my own conclusion. There's a huge liability when you ride a horse. And I understand why the staff does what they do. I'm a more experienced writer than my wife. Yes they do walk you with the horse at first they hold on to the horses while you're walking through the trails to get an idea of how experienced you are after about 10 minutes or so I was able to be on the horse without anyone holding on to the horse. However my wife did need a little more time. I haven't been on a horse and probably 20 years. But it came back fairly quickly. As I was speaking to my guide I was asking questions why we do not go out without somebody alongside the horse It's simply a liability until they know that you're able to handle a horse. Once you start going more and they know that you can ride and you've learned a little and they trust you you are able to go out on a guided ride with somebody in front of you on another horse. These horses are not run down they are in excellent condition and will react if you want them to, if you're a little overly enthusiastic with them they'll respond to rider input and they will go to a cantor or gallop so they're not for an inexperienced rider to be go out by yourself until you are ready,so I understand the need for caution having said that these horses are very very well behaved. And I commend them on the way they go about conducting their business.

This is a local gem. I called on Saturday morning to see if there was any last-minute availability for a trail ride for 2. Fortunately for us, we got a spot and were saddled up 3 hours later.
We enjoyed an hour trail ride on a lovely sunny day. Our trail guides John was very helpful and quite pleasant, along with Kristine and Roseanne.
They took extra care personally assuring each rider was comfortable during the ride. We've had a proper instructions before going for a trail ride.
Absolutely a friendly energy from everyone we interacted with. The facilities were well maintained, and the horses seemed super happy and healthy.
Those horses were rescued and they seem truly cared for and loved and I respect any organization that takes such care of their animals.
We felt the positive energy as soon as we stept on the property.
Excellent experience!

If you dont like thrills and want someone to hold onto your horse and walk with you for the whole time, then it's for you. I went there seeing reviews. Please dont do the same as me. I dont know how it's a trail ride if you only walk the horse around your backyard a little bit. I dont recommend this place for elders. For kids, maybe!

Payed for a trail ride of 6 ($60/person) and it was the BEST experience. Everyone loved it, the staff was very nice and patient with us which was very helpful since everyone in the party had no experience riding horses. For those looking to book just keep in mind that this is a *family owned business* and the staff are either family or volunteers (10-17ish years old). Be patient with the people AND the animals! The owner, Roseanne, was very lovely and attentive with the riders and horses to ensure a good experience. Roseanne also has the most interesting stories and can tell you the history of these horses which was inspiring to hear. The daughter was also VERY nice and led the group, she also shares the same passion as the mom which I thought was wonderful. On the trail ride they offer pictures which was taken on the daughters phone but you are more than welcome to pass along another phone so it can be taken with that instead. Overall, 10/10 experience and will recommend this place to anyone who is interested in riding horses with family! Great for kids and adults.

So let me start off by telling you that any bad reviews must be false or due to issues with the reviewer(s). I saw video of one particular incident also. Enough said.
Anyways, the experience there is top notch. The rescue horses are well loved and taken care of. The owners/guides are very thorough with the help and instruction needed. Everyone is very friendly and informative also.
My girlfriend and I will definitely be returning for more. Maybe for a snowy trail ride hopefully.

Been horseback riding once before as a youth but love horses and never knew where I could go or had the time to do it. Decided this was the year to finally get back on searched the Internet and found this place. Me and my sister went up and there were some of the most beautiful horses. We had some cool guides and instructor was very good. We are definitely going back.

Came here with my partner over the weekend and had a blast! The people here are super accommodating and though we called late on a Saturday, they still made it possible for us to ride. The horses have their own personalities which was super awesome and made it a lot more fun. The girls who took us on the trails were helpful and ensured we were comfortable on the horses. If you’re looking for some fun, come to Blue Spruce Farm!
