Mine was Bright Young Things Events’ first international wedding, and what a huge success it was. I struggled for two years after getting engaged to try to find a venue that would be affordable and accessible to our friends and family members scattered across the world. I was in a state of exhaustion and decision paralysis when I found Sara.

Sara started with a consult and helped me narrow down a few general ideas for a venue, designed vision boards, and then helped me pick a few candidate global locations. My main criteria were for a venue were: 1) a beautiful location surrounded by nature 2) all guests could stay on site and 3) the ceremony and reception were in the same location. After a month of venue hunting, she found Bodega Ridge on Galiano Island. Located off the coast of Vancouver, Canada, this venue was a short flight for many of our West Coast American guests and gave them a favorable exchange rate for a destination wedding. This location featured a stunning ocean and island backdrop, cabins on-site for guests to say, and a superb farm-to-table restaurant and lodge where the reception was held. She met every single one of my desires.

Simultaneously, she helped me work on a budget and set realistic expectations, particularly in light of the changes to the wedding industry in the post-pandemic era. Sara had the background to help me put the quotes we received in perspective and helped me make cuts where needed to stay within budget.

Sara was incredibly organized, scheduled check-in calls, sent follow up emails with my vendors, and read through all of my contracts. As we picked this venue site-unseen, she lead multiple virtual venue visits and had excellent follow through when we made changes to the menu and floral arrangements close to the date of the wedding. She worked as a liason between all of our moving parts (photographer, transport company, florist, hair stylist, etc etc) so that I didn’t have to. Her numerous checklists and spreadsheets were key to making sure everything was organized leading to the event.

Sara’s on-site direction was excellent. She is incredibly dedicated and focused on finer details. Knowing Sara was there to organize décor, the guests, and most importantly, the timeline, allowed me to relax and enjoy the day. I truly went through the day without a care in the world because someone else was sweating the small stuff. I had such a wonderful time and was able to be in the moment with my husband, our family, and friends. I could literally not recommend someone any higher than I could recommend this woman. If you’re thinking about an international wedding, go with Bright Young Things. You won’t regret it.
