My husband and I brought my mother-in-law to 1850 House for Sunday brunch to celebrate her birthday. We arrived at 12 and they were slammed! We were grateful to the hostess who managed to get us a table and definitely know to make reservations next time. The vibe is adorable here - the aesthetic is trendy while maintaining the charm of the 1850 building. The view of the golf course will be beautiful in the summer! Service was definitely on the slower side, and we were here 2 hours which we didn’t expect for brunch, but we understood with how busy they were. Drinks were good, and food was okay. We did think we’ve had better corned beef hash, and my steak in my salad was a little tough. Overall it’s the nicest place for brunch in the Southbury area, and I would definitely come back to enjoy the vibe!

Came across this place on a whim and definitely would come back. Our waitress Flo was amazing and she made the best cranberry muffins! It was an aesthetically pleasing environment and the food was very great.

Igli has done it again! Excellent experience! A little more upscale than his other gem, Kitchen 64 in Middlebury, but the food and our server were up to the same standard. The omelets and home fries were delicious, the hash outstanding! It's Kitchen 64 with a more refined twist. We liked it alot and will visit again, but our favorite is still Kitchen 64. Highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed with either of his restaurants!

Quaint restaurant on a golf course. Attentive friendly service (kitchen was a little slow with the food; but it was very busy) no wait to be seated on Saturday afternoon. Food was great. Had the Philly cheesesteak panini and crispy chicken honey mustard panini. Both sandwiches were DELICIOUS and reasonably priced at $14 with a good serving size. Onions rings could be much better; but the truffle fries were great! Bathrooms were clean (had lemon verbana soap), outdoor seating was gorgeous and the lot had plenty of fantastic easy parking as well.

The new Chef has made a big difference here. The two apps we had ( crab cakes , rack of lamb ) were delicious, and the mains were tasty and cooked perfectly as well. We topped it all off with a butter cake desert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We would go back to this historic restaurant again.

We came for brunch today and we're seated immediately because we had reservations. It took 15 minutes for a waitress to come and take our coffee order. 5 minutes later came the coffee but no creamer. That was another 5 minutes coffee was getting cold. Food is good and reasonably priced and the atmosphere is lovely. Our waitress never came back to check on us to see if anything else was wanted or needed. Another coffee would have been nice. Luckily our bus girl was helpful she got us salt & pepper and take out containers. Lastly I had to chase down someone so I could pay our bill. If you need more help please hire another server. This results in customers not returning and letting others know to think twice about coming here to eat.
