The grounds about the Erie Canal, with good hiking and walking trails nearby. And the innkeeper, Keith Miller, is an incredible cook to boot. If you’re going to decorate with so much frou-frou (paper and fabric flowers on the walls/staircase/doors, tsotchkes, pillows, etc.), you have to commit to cleaning or replacing it frequently. Here, it’s all covered by a thick layer of dust.| |Other than changing the sheets and cleaning the bathroom between guests, I doubt the rooms are cleaned often. The fabric chair in our room was dirty and had food crumbs on top of the cushion left by a previous guest. The bedskirt was grimy and the area under the bed was just gross, and hadn’t been vacuumed in a long time. My bath towel had a sizable brown/red stain on it. |*Is anyone paying attention here?*| |We arrived on a hot day. Our room had a floor fan set on high and one window propped open about 8 inches. The other three windows in the room did not open and had storm windows in place even if they did. Is there air conditioning in the house? IDK. I saw a central AC unit on the side but there was no air coming into our room. At night, it was hot and the fan was loud.| |The common rooms downstairs were cleaner, maybe because they are not used. There is coffee and tea in the hallway upstairs in the morning. There is no breakfast here and we never saw anyone in or near the house. | |The only good part was the gift card to the local bakery, which was excellent and accounts for my extra rating star. Enough to buy two breakfasts, but not coffee/juice. The bakery has patio seating in the summer.| |I would not stay here again. People with asthma should definitely avoid.

Beautiful room, amazing Jacuzzi tub, friendly and helpful owner, great location.|We found this inn along the Erie Canal by accident and couldn't be more pleased. It is a gem of a place and we hope to return another day. Our room was quiet, the king bed was firm and the vibe of the place was welcoming...5 stars!

We got this as a gift, excited to get a little time away. The place is cutely decorated, however the entire place smells so terribly of mothballs that we chose to go home after a few hours.
The zorow room has a giant hot tub, however there didn't seem to be enough hot water to fill the tub up. And the step and the bathroom floor are very slippery and we slipped getting out of the tub. There's no instructions for the switch to turn the jets on.
They did offer a $25 gift card for a local breakfast place. Which was nice if you want a coffee, the breakfast food items seemed a bit pricy.
I'm happy we didn't spend the money on staying here, and I wouldn't go back, mainly for the overwhelming mothball smell.

Came up to see eclipse. This place was very nicely decorated and had many interesting pieces throughout downstairs. Our room was nicely made up. Very quirky old house charm. Canal view room had huge tub with rainshower head. Cool old fixtures. Very quiet location, and comfy bed. Only complaints were tub stopper was too small, sink stopper was missing and there was a cap stuck down in drain. Also, the overhead vents were really impacted with dust. |Canal walk was really close as were places to eat.

My husband and I stayed that the charming Canal Lamp Inn for 3 nights. The Innkeepers, Keith and Beth, emailed me to say that our room was ready early. Check-in was easy and there was a welcome bag in the room with some goodies inside. The stay included a $20 gift card/night for breakfast at The Village Bakery in town. There are so many delicious options to choose from.

We had the “Canalview Room” which was very clean, spacious and inviting. Then entire Inn is so beautiful with plenty of spaces to relax in and it was very quiet during our stay. On the second floor, there is a communal area offering coffee and tea as well as a small refrigerator. There is no air-conditioning but there was a fan in the room. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with plenty of parking. We walked all around quant downtown Pittsford.

Along the Erie Canal and on Main Street in Pittsford there are so many wonderful shops to explore and numerous restaurants to dine in. We had a great experience and would stay at Canal Lamp Inn again if we found ourselves in the area!

Recommended to me by a friend who lives in the area! What a great, clean, safe well decorated comfortable place to stay right in the heart of Pittsford. Walk to everything right on the canal. Owner is around and very accommodating! TV, WiFi, free coffee and walk to local bakery for phenomenal breakfasts and lunch! Loved it! 10 out of 10!

What a beautiful B&B! The house is immaculate and the rooms are beautifully decorated. The location is right on the Erie Canal and offers beautiful walks along the canal with many restaurants, wine bars and coffee shops. The owners are very responsive and easy to reach via email. I personally loved the vouchers for breakfast at the Village Bakery which is delightful and has incredible breakfasts. Had a great 4 night stay and will definitely return.
