Definitely worth the drive from North Myrtle Beach! We had a great time with the crew. So many great stories about the people that helped found this area. Beautiful beach on the island with the tea colored waters that were very interesting. We saw eagles, dolphins, tons of crabs, stingray, and some gators. Remember your tip money because it’s worth every penny!

This was our second trip with Cap’n Rod’s Low Country Tours to North Island for the shell tour. We love the atmosphere! The captain and his first mate were very friendly, engaging, and wonderful hosts. Good history, great shelling, and the best navigation. Check them out!

Lots of fun. About 45 min. to the island, 11/2 hours on the island, then 45 back. The captain and mate knew a lot of history of the area. Was real entertaining. This was our 3rd time taking the trip and will definitely do it again.

Had a great trip out to shell Island.
Several guests got welk shells but alas I was only able to find oyster and common shells.
I did see sting rays, ghost crabs, blue crabs, and sea turtles so that was certainly worth it.
The boat ride is long, an hour each way, but we did spot dolphins.
They gave facts during the ride as well.

We visited this week (being our 5th time over the last 20 years) with our youngest daughter and as usual it was a great tour with tons of historic information and beautiful scenery.
