We booked with Carpe Diem Excursions on our recent trip to Alaska and I cannot praise them highly enough. From the booking process to the excursion itself, they made everything smooth and easy. Once on the boat they treated our family as if we were their own, delighting our children and grandchildren along the way. We caught fish, observed walruses and whales in breathtaking Alaskan scenery, ate delicious snacks, and most importantly, had fun. Their knowledge and professionalism was evident throughout. It was a truly memorable experience!

Heather & Asanti curated a lovely early season (May) salmon fishing excursion for us aboard the Carpe Diem when our Royal Caribbean ship was docked in Skagway. Not only did we catch several king salmon of varied sizes, but we also enjoyed the broader environment of Alaska. Asanti was able to summon a bald eagle to retrieve a fish from the water right next to our vessel. Heather made the planning before the trip easy, including the arrangements for the fast ferry to Haines. Plenty of packaged snacks were available during the excursion including fresh locally caught sockeye salmon. We are pleased we added this privately arranged small group tour to our Alaska experience!

Heather and Asanti are the best!

We had an incredible time on our Salmon fishing excursion. It was the most fun fishing trip I've ever had, because they didn't just hand us a pole and tell us "good luck" - they were so personable and taught us exactly what they were doing! I learned so much about Fishing, Alaskan history, Salmon, and wildlife facts!

One of the highlights was they threw bait into the water to have a bald eagle fly down and catch it right in front of us!

Heather also showed us around her hometown Haines and gave us a tour even after the tour ended! They are so thoughtful and kindhearted and anyone who is thinking about booking an excursion, do it! It was so memorable and we will remember this for the rest of our lives!

We would highly recommend Carpe Diem for fishing in Skagway. We had a great time and caught a bunch of fish. Heather and Asanti were very enjoyable and professional. They are a family run business and it shows. Scenery was amazing and we saw lots of bald eagles.

I never write reviews but Carpe Diem is really worthy of one! I am a Haines local and had friends coming from the east coast who wanted to fish. I asked around town and checked reviews and decided to go with Carpe Diem. Heather and Asanti were amazing, true professionals in customer service. The boat is beautiful and well equipped for guests. They knew just where to go to put us on the fish, but the trip was so much more than that! Heather and Asanti’s knowledge of the area was extensive, I even learned some things! Heather had delicious snacks and some local treats for us to enjoy. We really had an incredible time and made memories of a lifetime. Thank you so much for making my friend’s trip to Alaska so special!
