Linda was a tremendous firefly tour guide! We were lucky to see both blue ghost and synchronous fireflies. It was a magical once in a lifetime experience! It was like watching an orchestra of lights. Spectacular!

Recently we took the elk tour with Esther. This tour far exceeded our expectations. Esther is so knowledgeable and personable and it's obvious that she loves what she does. We witnessed elk rutting, bugling, and grouse and turkeys in their natural habitat. Esther not only gave us interesting facts on the animals but also outlined the history of the Cataloochee Valley, which enhanced our time together. We highly recommend this tour.

"In the world of Eco-Tourism there are first class companies and then there is Esther Blakely's Cataloochee Valley Tours. In every way Cataloochee Valley Tours is a cut above what you would expect of a five star experience. From the Covid-19 protocols, to the clean and comfortable hybrid Cadillac Escalade, the Starbucks coffee and delicious pastries, Esther treats you more like family members than guests. She does this all while seamlessly sharing her vast knowledge of the environment, habitat, and animal behavior. She is a world-class naturalist as are other members of her team. On our particular tour we saw an abundance of elk but, more importantly, were educated in all aspects of their behavior. Esther is a mission driven woman who loves sharing her vast knowledge of her beloved Cataloochee Valley. Not only did we receive and excellent tour, we gained a wonderful friend. Thank you, Esther. We can't wait to experience a "Firefly Tour" with you!!!"

Just finished the Firefly Tour and it was simply magical! The synchronized fireflies surrounded us and that combined with the water flowing in the creek below the bridge we stood on and the bright beautiful stars above us was an experience I’ll never forget.... we even got to see the International Space Station pass over the night sky and closed the night with milk and cookies...Loved it!!

Went on the firefly tour and had a great time. The small group made the trip so much more enjoyable! They took us to two great locations and gave us a snack half way through. Very good and knowledgeable guides too!
