We absolutely loved the cruiser canoe that they gave us. It was 3 of us from LA with no experience, and they explained everything, and it was tough, but we got a hang of it. The environment is definitely worth it. We saw sea lions and otters which was great. Lots of birds and ducks. Definitely recommend this for beginners or just to have fun and go on the water.

This place was awesome. All of the staff were great and super helpful. Made us feel comfortable since it was our first time. We got the hang of it super quick and we were off. Don't overdo it and go too far up river when you have to turn around and paddle against the wind. Because boy were we pooped. The scenery was great we saw freshwater otters. Many different seabirds. And had an overall awesome experience. So glad I found this place will definitely recommend.

Fabulous experience canoeing on the river with our pup. This is a MUST DO activity in Mendocino. Staff are lovely and informative. They even have doggie life jackets. 6 stars!

We had an amazing adventure on their boat, which proved to be incredibly stable and easy to maneuver. The entire experience was filled with joy and relaxation. The weather was perfect, with the sun shining brightly as we glided smoothly for about an hour before heading back. The surrounding scenery of lush, green trees added to the beauty of our journey. Although we had to exert a little more effort on the return trip, it was well worth it. However, the only oversight we had was forgetting to equip our beloved cat with a life jacket…Overall, it was a delightful day spent in nature, creating unforgettable memories.

rick and tim are the best! check in was smooth and they got us (and our dog) set up with life vests and a beautiful canine outrigger canoe. it was a gorgeous day and the trip was so scenic. we got to see plenty of wildlife - harbor seals, ducks, geese, you name it! there's a section of the river that's so calm/peaceful, it feels like youre floating on the water. overall, this was such an amazing experience and a must-do activity if you're in mendocino ?

tip - pack a backpack with water and snacks if you need an energy boost!

Came here last Saturday and had a great time. Luckily, we were able to get fit in last minute. The employees were really friendly and helpful. We got to see some seals and beautiful views along the river. I definitely recommend this company over others in the area. ☺️

We loved our experience with Catch a Canoe! It was me and two of my girl friends and we had zero experience with a canoe. We felt safe the entire time and they ran through how to steer and where to go. We saw so much out on the water - fish, birds, otters, a sea lion! It was an amazing experience and I will definitely be back!

This is a must-do whenever you are in Mendocino coast. We are in town for the Weekend to celebrate my husband’s big 40. We are extremely happy to be finally in the water together (rather than having to take turns to row and watch the kiddos....). The outrigger fits both of us and our 6-yo triplets nicely and safely! All of us enjoyed the river cruise (including the man who did most of the rowing for his wife and children ?). We spotted 17 harbour seals, 2 river otters, lots of birds and ducks. Thanks to our dock master Trevor for his briefing and tips to enjoy the Big River, and Rick for helping us with the reservation. Highly recommended! It’s safe and easy even for someone who if a first timer.
