We've been here a few times and always a good time. Wish we lived closer, it's about an hour and 20 from us. The routes are changed and the kids always enjoy it. I love how it's family friendly because there are always a good number of little kids. Just nice to see them included in the sport

I have been to several CRGs and consider the chain the best rock climbing gym chain in the world (I have been to climbing gyms in other countries). However, this particular gym needs to be maintained better. All times I have been there the mats have been soiled with chalk (other branches tend to keep the mats spotless). The locker room could do with some improvement. Fall lines of some of the routes could be safer. Routes are fun and curved bouldering wall is unique.

I have been going to Central Rock Gym with my three children for about 3 or 4 years. Never had any type of problems until today. While my daughter was climbing, I was approached by a staff member. As my daughter was climbing, we got into a long conversation about my belay technique. I was very confused and distracted by all the questions. Apparently, there was an issue with the style of belay technique that I use. When I use a tube belay I use the PBUS technique, when I use my mechanical brake assisted, Petzl Grigri I use PBAS. This is because my daughter can climb very fast and PBUS takes longer especially when using the grigri. I am not a pro and am very much an amateur my kids are the ones that are the athletes. I told the staff member I would be happy to only use PBUS method if that is the gym police. Safety is very important to me, that is why I use the grigri. Most accidents I know about happen when the belayer get distracted. This is why the staff member should have waited until my daughter was not climbing.
I was told I was not allowed to belay without an hour to hour and half course. The staff member claimed he could not find my belaying records in their computer system.
I do have to say I am old and this if the first time I have ever been booted out of any place, but they were nice about it.
They had a birthday party going on that made most of the auto belays unavailable so how people are supposed to climb? I assure you I filled out all the required paperwork! I have followed all of Central Rock Gym written policies. Maybe there is some part of the interaction that I am missing. The staff member seemed new but was nice.

Awesome Vibe! Great enthusiasm and encouraging environment. Lots of levels of skill with no judgment.
RECOMMEND this spot for an exciting change of scenery that your kids will LOVE. This will certainly tire them out! No prior reservations are necessary and you don’t have to go with a member.

An awesome gym offering bouldering and both lead & TR routes. I’m always greeted at the door with a smile and a lungful of that sweet sweet chalk dust. Love their support of small local businesses!

Really cool place, lots of climbing options, all the equipment you need to do so. They also a yoga studio, treadmills, and some barbells and plates for lifting. Also sometimes there are dogs you can say hi too. Definitely worth checking out

Great gym! Would love even more if they had EV parking ^_^

10/24 Updated: Still good, still no EV charger, kids programs could be improved.

The helpful staff creates a safe & fun environment for climbers of all skill levels. The climbs are changed frequently. Highly recommended.
