I have booked six trips through Classy Destinations and worked with Amanda with the last four. My entire experience has been nothing but great. Amanda always ensure my requests are met and makes herself available in the event of any unforeseen events. That’s a nice warm fuzzy to have when traveling, especially out of the country. While everyone here was very nice, I was disappointed in the overall experience and lack of advice I received. I booked a trip to Bermuda a year ago. This was a bucket list trip. I had never been there before so I really needed some guidance especially since there are no All-Inclusives there. However, all they did was book my room and then my air flight. Frankly, I could have easily done that part. I was really looking for help with excursions etc. and had been told we would do all that closer to the date . However, when I did go in a month and a half before to pay my balance and do this, I was simply told to just book my excursions through Viator. I was very surprised as had not used an agency before and really expected some hands on help and information. When I pushed for restaurant recommendations, the agent jotted down a couple on a Post It note and handed to me. Again, not what I had expected. So I go home and proceed to book my excursions. After further digging on my own, I found out that the excursions I picked were an hour away by taxi and would be at least $100 ONE WAY. I just canceled and decided to just see the concierge when we got there. So we did do that and found out that we could catch a taxi to the next town (Hamilton) and then catch a ferry. That was never even mentioned, yet quite important. The taxi to just the Hamilton to catch the ferry was $65 plus tip. I can only imagine what it would have been all the way. Plus we missed the ferry by a minute because we were given the weekday schedule. Good grief. So we just thought we would hang around Hamilton and get lunch and go to the shops there. Well they were all closed because it was Sunday! So we were able to find one place open for lunch (a coffee shop) and then just sat on a bench to wait for the next ferry because frankly by then my nerves were shot. Luckily we just made it to our excursion that day when the next ferry came.
So again, while friendly, they were not what I had expected in the way of travel agency. I have travelled abroad a good bit but always had to do the legwork myself. This was an expensive trip and figured I would relax and get an agency to do the work. Sadly that was not the case. I can safely say, I will not do this again.
