Great riding programs and great boarding facility! I’ve taken lessons here, and competed at their shows. It’s a clean and well taken care of environment. I have friends who board their horses here, who have for years and absolutely love it. They show great horsemanship here. They care deeply for the horses and students and it shows!

CEC is a wonderful facility, with amazing staff that care deeply for their boarders, students and horses. I love seeing how happy the horses are and the excellent care they receive. I visit at different times of the day, multiple times a week, and the horses always have hay and fresh water.
The trainers are extremely knowledgeable about horses and their anatomy. In my lessons, my teacher Dan will explain to me how to hold my self during certain exercises to activate different muscles in the horse to better protect them and their bodies. It’s all about safety surrounding the horses, and the riders. It is so refreshing to see how educated everyone is surrounding the welfare of horses, and how much they care for them.
All of the staff are wonderful, the teachers are kind and informed, and the horses are healthy and happy. It’s a warm and welcoming environment for both new and advanced riders and their horses 🙂

I have never been horse back riding before until recently and everyone here was very friendly and knowledgeable. My instructor took all the fear and anxiety out of the experience which allowed for better learning experience!
Their outdoor and indoor ring are well maintained. They also have miles and miles of trails on property, and A large cross country course, providing so many opportunities and experiences for their students.
Honestly 10/10 would recommend for advanced and beginning riders!

My grandson has been taking lessons at CEC for three years. I am a frequent visitor for both lessons and the shows that are held there. I found the trainers to be engaging, competent and knowledgeable. They gave excellent feedback and has helped my grandson and other students improve tremendously. I have been to the barn during every season and at all times of day. I always found the the horses very well cared for, well feed and exercised daily. The owners have years of experience owning and running the center, as well as a love of horses and pride in their "barn". They have imbued CEC with a sense of community for those who take lessons as well as those who board. My grandson continues to grow and learn new equestrian skills and now has a pony that we board here. I recommend Connecticut Equestrian Center as a great place for beginning riders who want to learn and feel safe in a wonderful environment.

We have been involved with Connecticut Equestrian Center for several years now. First, as students of the lesson program, which we have found to be comprehensive and inclusive. The instructors at CEC are knowledgable and inclusive of all riding abilities and work incredibly hard for their students. Horsemanship, safety and community are always encouraged and practiced by all we’ve had the pleasure to encounter. Recently, we decided to purchase our first horse and brought her to CEC to board and train. Our pony mare is sensitive and has a few quirks. The staff at CEC have been incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, always guiding us in making informed decisions for her heath and well being and continued success as a child’s pony. We enjoy the many amenities of this beautiful facility, the kindness and courtesy of the fellow boarders and lesson students, and the willingness of management to be helpful, inclusive, friendly and knowledgable. Many schooling show opportunities are offered each season on-site and are efficient, fun for all and well run. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for an all inclusive boarding facility with 24hour on-site management, indoor and outdoor arenas, trails and a cross country course accessible to all.

Bad for boarding a horse that is sensitive, young, athletic or talented. Fine for lessons or bombproof horses. Often I found my horse with no hay. They feed heavy but it’s not true 24hr hay. Handlers are inexperienced and can lead to training bad habits and overuse of shanks. Management is overly negative and dramatic which upsets sensitive horses. Cute property but lacking in good horsemanship. Many injuries were witnessed to horses and riders while I boarded my horse here due to a lack of intuition and foresight. Intuition and foresight are key to running a high quality equine facility and some people just don’t have it.

Love it here. Relatively small, not chaotic at all, and filled with friendly people, patient and knowledgeable and kind instructors, great horses, and pure beauty. Very organized and inclusive and professional and helpful and warm and cozy and happy facility. I definitely recommend you ride here. They will guide you in the direction you want to work towards, no matter what it is and you will fly.

Awesome location and people! Great show, run well, easy in/out with the horse trailer too! We may make this one a regular stop despite the distance from our house, it was worth it!
