I am not a client at this facility, I do know someone inside there and this review is based on what I have heard. I appreciate the work that Is put in here by the volunteers and staff. Places like these are necessary to help individuals and families to have a place to regain their bearings, after a dramatic events such as homelessness. If you complete the requirements and finish the in house program. You will be assigned a care manager who from what I understand will assist you in gaining subsidised housing. This place was a blessing for the individual I know who went here, and Iโ€™m sure it is for many others. There are some things that I do not agree with, however I choose not to post negativity about a place genuinely helping homeless individuals get on their feet. As well as, helping them and their families find permanent housing.

The people that run the shelter haven't the slightest clue of how to address people. They're condescending and rude. Event though they're completely AWARE oof the drug and alcohol usage by some of the residents they turn a blinds eye.
The people who are in charge, spend all they're time behind closed office doors. Never available to clients, & if by chance you happen to get their attention, they'll tell u they'll talk to u later, then blow u off completely.
The building is infested with bed bugs, and the staff KNOW, but did nothing about it. There have been multiple overdoses since I've been here, but nobody seems you care. One person was denied their heart medications and DIED that night!! The overnight ppl are supposed to check on the clients every hour or so, they come ONCE, and SLEEP the rest of the night in the back office where the cameras can't catch them snoozing the night away.
Donations are gone through by the head staff, and sometimes they'll simply KEEP the donation fort themselves!!! How low is a person who steals from the homeless Ridiculous.
The people in charge, need to hire people who've experienced homelessness, NOT people who've NEVER known the hardships of being homeless.

Staff has low morale and I filed a grievance towards the issue of residents abusing hippa confidential information and severe bullying only to find that the staff went behind my back to read my grievance to other residents. The staff is a revolving door and really cold. I've had a hard time dealing with the program on trying to do my appointments although I've leveled up to be in the community. I've had staff not let me get my bank statements or give me diapers for my infant that they recieved for donations. I'm told to not work but I had to buy all my own stuff and even with that, I not even allowed to be transported to the store or have drop offs from my support. I feel like I'm given very little dignity.

Worst place ever thugs punks and garbage live thier eaven some staff are garbage. They tried several times to accuse me of something i had nothing to do with. And they play favourites. Because i work as a contractor and didnt want them to know what my income was they let me go. They dont help they hinder you. I had a certified letter about what was being left to the family being sent to me it kept being sent back. My sister came from florida to give it to me. They also tamper with mail i found my mail out in the rec area for everyone to read. Regardless it was magazines its not public mail my name was on it. They say you dont take showers but blame you for the shower being dirty and tell you to clean it. Kinda hipocrites if you ask me why would i want to clean a shower i dont use by your standards.

Very professional and friendly. The building houses both a homeless shelter and a transitional housing unit. Case workers provide individual meetings with clients to find stable housing.
