I had a three day hiking adventure on the AT in CT and couldn't have had a better time thanks to the shuttle service AND hospitality that Mary and Cooper offered during my stay. The whole house being two hundred years old had much to offer for the lover of pine floors and corner cupboards with tea cups and tea pots to adore. I wanted to stay longer just to enjoy the interior but the trail called and after all it's summer. I look forward to my next visit and if you are into birds there are plenty in the backyard as well as the surrounding woods.

Many B&Bs offer faux old-fasioned charm - this place is truly an old new england farmhouse, with the old hardwood floors, fixtures, and furniture to match. The hosts are incredibly kind and accomodating, making a generous breakfast and offering town pickups for AT hikers. The place is clean, beds are comfortable, and the place is a couple miles north of town, so it couldn't be quieter at night - for folks who want to get away to a quiet woodsy place it's perfect. Guests looking for a sleek and shiny B&B experience might feel it's a little too old - echoes of Grandma's house rather than a luxury weekend. But I found it comfortable and lovely and I'd be happy to stay there again.

We were coming off the Appalachian Trail and were fortunate to stay at this local B&B. The innkeepers, Mary and Cooper, were wonderful hosts picking us up and also shuttling us into town for dinner. The 19th century house with its uneven, wide-plank floors and warped-glass windows was as charming as the innkeepers. The town boasts a small collection of upscale and casual eateries and shops - and importantly for AT hikers - a laundromat, grocery store, and backpacking supply store. One of a kind place!

We had a relaxing stay at Cooper Creek B&B in September. Our room was quiet, comfortable and very clean. Mary and Cooper were helpful hosts, and recommended a perfect spot in nearby Kent for dinner. The breakfast buffet offered fresh fruit, yogurt and granola, and I appreciated the healthy options. I will stay at Cooper Creek again next spring when I return to Kent to do some hiking.

While the house is in a good location, and the owners were pleasant, our stay here was disappointing. For $200 per night, we were expecting much more. The house is old, dark, and dingy, and we felt that it was unclean. The bathroom had some mold in it, the rugs felt dirty, and the rooms can certainly use a fresh coat of paint. There are also some interesting (unpleasant) odors. Breakfast was sub par. They offered hard boiled eggs, a couple of pieces of fruit, and cold cereal. The coffee tasted like it had been brewed the night before. When we asked Mary what to do with our dishes after breakfast, she told us to put them in the kitchen – something that you would think a host would do for her guests. When we got a glimpse of the kitchen, we saw dirt and grime around the sink, which was really not pleasant to see after just having eaten. I would not recommend this place.

Cooper Creek is magical. Old world charm sown into a gorgeous, multi-faceted home/facility that has everything needed for a perfect B & B experience. The bed was super comfortable, the food EXCELLENT, the scenery gorgeous and the hospitality first rate. Proprietors Cooper and Mary are the essence of professionalism, thoughtfulness and they think of everything. Throw in a touch of whimsy and it became a weekend I will never forget. ||||John H. Coming off the Appalachian Trail I was picked up & returned to trail head in the morning after a delicious pancake breakfast. Hosts lovely, house authentically historic and beautifully decorated. |P.S. So not understand negative comments above. Despite my Appalachian Trail hiker status I am accustomed to fine lodging, i.e. Fairmont, Four Seasons, etc, and have fine nose for mildew AND found nothing objectionable at this B&B.

This may have been a nice place at one time, but it is now run down, smells heavily of mold and mildew, and is very unclean. Five large daddy long legs and webs had to be removed by me. The refrigerator was unplugged and filled with mold. There were dishes but no utensils. The entrance to our room was around the side......no walkway and no lighting. Very disappointing after spending WELL over $500. for 2 nights.
