We had a weekend stay for two rooms. For the most part our 2 night stay at Country Inn & Suites in Pella was very good. The desk clerk generously upgraded both of our rooms to suites. The rooms were spacious and clean, although we found a miniature toy lizard on the floor in our room, left there by previous guests, and housekeeping !? We made use of the pool and hot tub on the first night. Looked like it could do with some upkeep -- new paint, caulking, stains -- in the pool area. The breakfast was decent: eggs, sausage, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, cereals, toast, yogurt & fruit, pastries; and the attendant kept everything well stocked and clean. |On the morning we left after we had checked out, my mother realized she forgot her nightlight that she brought from home in her bathroom. So we called and the front desk attendant said she'd ask housekeeping to leave it at the desk for us to pick up. Upon returning later in the day, the attendant claimed all nightlights were the hotel's property; a nightlight was standard for each bathroom. This is false because a nightlight was not provided in our bathroom. She would not hand over the nightlight, so we left feeling like we were accused of wanting to steal their nightlight.|Overall, a very good stay, but the last impression was unpleasant.

Great motel in a good location. Positioned next to a Casey's Gass station with snacks, pizza, and drinks, and next to Dairy Queen with food and ice cream. Quiet area of town, close to college and main highways. Facility well maintained.

Clean, spacious, nice place to stay. Breakfast hours are late for business travelers. 6 to 9 AM I will not be able to use this benefit during my week long stay.

Very clean room, nice smell, comfortable bed, and a good shower. If you need to stay in Pella, I'd recommend this location. Besides, there's a 24 hour Casey's across the street.

Quick and efficient check in. My room was very clean. ||I stayed for two nights. Breakfast was provided each morning. Hot items were different each day. The attendant was efficient, but not very personable.||A decent hotel. I would stay again, if I was in the area. Easy to get downtown and back.

My room was exceptionally clean. Breakfast has several options. Checkin was easy and professional. The hallways and lobby are clean. Bed and bathrooms are clean. Good water pressure and pretty landscaping outside. I truly have no complaints. This hotel really exceeded my expectations.

Overall I thought this motel was rather high priced for what you got. The rooms aren't anything special. I recently stayed in a much better motel in Moline Illinois that was $50 a night less than this place. Unless you really have a need to stay in Pella, I would drive up the road to Des Moines which is only about a half hour away and get a lot better motel selection and quality at a lower price.

Check in took 30 minutes. When got to the room, it was stopped in the middle of being cleaned. Sounded like the whole first level got half cleaned and then the cleaning crew just checked out and left. Was moved to a new room which was clean and in decent shape. Food was ok. Went to check out at 11am (check out time) and waited at the front desk for over 20 minutes. Called the front desk multiple times. Had housekeeping go looking for Heather. She was no where to be found. When I finally gave up and left, I met her outside walking from the east side of the building. She told me she got 'locked out' which I know to be a total lie as the 2 housekeepers and myself walked all around the perimeter of the building and she was not there. When I told her I needed to check out she said 'no you don't need me for that' To which I informed her when I had a discrepancy with my bill I need to talk to someone. She was rude and very unprofessional. I will never stay at this location again, and I guarantee you there were others I encountered in the lobby while I was waiting for her that told me the same thing. That it was the worst experience they have ever had there and they will not be back.
