I reserved a three hour Delta Bohemian tour with Billy as part of a surprise birthday trip for my husband. I wasn’t sure what length to select, but chose 3 hours in hopes that Billy could fill it with interesting information about the area. Oh, my! First, it was a HUGE hit with my husband. Secondly, as time passed and Billy enthralled us with agricultural, cultural, economic and historic information, I wished I had scheduled another hour! He is an absolute gem that should be uplifted by the Clarksdale community and surrounding areas. He also gave us fabulous recommendations for food, entertainment and more areas to explore. What we came away with more than anything, is an appreciation for the people, the way of life and the culture of the Delta. We saw it with different eyes than when we rolled into town the day before. For that, the time with Billy and the tour was priceless!

BEST THINGS TO DO IN CLARKSDALE - WITHOUT A DOUBT
BUCKET LIST - MUST DO!

I stumbled on this gem, searching for info on youtube. A video recommendation, pointed me directly to Bill (My wife and I swear he looks like a more refined Ozzie Osbourne, with lighter hair). lol.

Anyway when we travel, we like a private, more informative tour, to understand the history, and the best spots to visit. Not just the touristy thing. You can get that anywhere. I see people walking the town. Thats ok and all, but if you really want to know more about the town, the resources, the history of the music, the inside stories, you have got to get a tour from Billy. Billy is such a smart, energetic, kind, and knowledgable guy, he will make your understanding of this historical town, something that you would never experience, simply walking the town and taking pictures.

We saw things that we never experienced in our first visit to Clarksdale. If you're looking for the best things to do in Clarksdale, start with this. You may also, want to stay at the Shack up inn. Both "Bucket List" things to do. Tell him Monty and Mary Deane, sent you. You will not be disappointed!!!

Chilly Billy was a great tour guide! He knew about all there is to know about Delta Blues, the sites, and the artists. My wife and I would highly recommend at least the two hour, perhaps the three if you never saw the levees up close.

My sister booked this tour for us when we can over to visit from Australia, and what a treat! Chilly Billy pulled the absolute best of Clarksdale into three hours. If you're going there to experience the Delta Blues without Billy, you're only getting a tiny fraction of what the town has to offer.

We took the 4-hour tour with Chilly Billy and it was such a fantastic experience. He provides such great insight on the Delta including the land, agriculture, history, music etc. We came away with a much greater understanding and appreciation for the way of life in the Delta. He's from Clarksdale, and you can tell he has a passion for the area and for educating others. He was an absolute pleasure to spend time with, and we can't recommend the tour enough. It exceeded our expectations. If anyone is taking a trip to the Delta, we highly recommend starting off with this tour. It gave us an even greater appreciation for everything else we experienced later.

We had a terrific 3 hour tour of the Clarksdale area. Billy provided thorough and entertaining information about history of the town, agriculture, cultural dynamics, and of course The Blues. We drove on a levee and saw how the Mississippi River has changed course over the years. Billy knows everyone in town, so we did get to meet community members. We saw where Tennessee Williams lived as a child and how Clarksdale influenced his writing. We’d say this is a required fun and educational experience! Billy is a bit of a Renaissance man and became a friend in our short time together.

In a 3 hour tour, Chilly Billy showed the beauty of an oxbow lake from the rim of the levee, the pecan groves that sheltered Muddy Waters as he grew up, and three possible crossroads where Robert Johnson may have lingered. With the passion of a "hometown boy" he shared his love and knowledge of the extraordinary delta.
He also shared recommendations for music, food, and hidden gems to explore. My husband and I had an unforgettable stay in Clarksdale following his guidance.
