This was a fantastic adventure!! The boat is mostly open air but has lovely inside seating area with hot beverages and snacks of all types plus lots of water bottles. Blankets and binoculars are also available should you want them. Morgan, our captain was a lovely young woman who definitely lives her job. We found a few humpback whales, sea lions and plenty of seagulls but the show stopper was the “Eagle Show”. They go to one of the very few locations where you can feed Bald Eagles aka throw fish to them. It was fantastic to see these birds, both young and old, fly. They are great hunters with amazing mobility in the air. It was just breathtaking!! This excursion is not for limited mobility folks as you have to be able to walk quite a distance to boat, step up and over things, and have good balance. There is a restroom on board should you need one.

Disappointed with our tour. The information shared on the boat was lacking. Spent the best part of 1 1/2 hrs chasing blow holes around the harbour without seeing anything other than a few blow holes, no backs or tails!!!. Other wildlife a few bald eagles, mention of other species but saw nothing. For chasing whales this boat is not suited for this as it is a lovely boat, but is heavy and too slow to chase.

I love the small boat tour away from the crowd. The boat has a cabin to keep us warm and a large outdoor area for when we see wildlife. Sam the naturalist is great and I loved the Annette Island eagles the best. THANK YOU for a most wonderful tour!

This is a true family owned local business. Morgan checks you in and is your Captain. Her best friend is the deck hand. We saw whales, sea lions, lots of Eagles ( a wonderful show of Eagles). The boat is extremely comfortable, and had a nice indoor seating with hot and cold drinks, snacks, blankets, binoculars EVERYTHING to have a great and comfortable tour. I highly recommend this tour, and know you are truly supporting the local economy.

Whales!
Patrick was a great host underway. They called us before departure and asked if we could show up a few minutes early since they had some news of whale locations. We were able to do so and we ended up with a fantastic humpback show with over a dozen breaches. It was great.
We also saw seals and eagles (nest with parents and fledgling and Patrick three a herring which one caught mid air. Amazing.
No bears, but we tried. Captain and crew were knowledgeable and friendly. There were small snacks and drinks on board. Blankets too when it got a little cold (not very cold).
The boat is downtown and easy to find. I definitely recommend a trip!

What a wonderful way to start our Alaskan adventure! We appreciated the efficiency of the booking, the excellent communication and the friendly guide meeting us directly from the port. We spent the morning searching for whales. Our friendly Captain & Crew shared wonderful information about the area and kept us warm with blankets & hot chocolate. We weren't as successful as we wanted with regards to the whales, but our Captain was persistent and patient and we were finally rewarded with a few tails before we had to turn back. We appreciated the efforts immensely! After the whale excursion, we were transferred to our land guide. Lucky us -- we were the only 2 booked on this portion. We loved our private tour as it allowed for extra stops at some of our guide's favorite places. We loved our beach stop and seeing starfish (I know, I'm suppose to say "Sea Stars") and various anemones crouched up beneath the reefs while the tide was out. A quick photo op with a beautiful waterfall was another treat as were the stops at the Totem Pole park, the salmon ladder & the local bear hangout (although they chose not to hang out that morning). All in all, we left Ketchikan in great spirits!

We had a fantastic few hours watching whales with this team. They were fun, friendly, had a great little boat, and we saw Humpback whales and eagles and a sea lion! Weather can be variable (although we lucked a gorgeous day) so be prepared. The boat has a covered area, or you can sit out back or on the bow nice and close to the water and the action.

We spent an amazing morning with Jesse and Sam from Eagle One. They are super easy to find, just a few steps away from the #1 and #2 cruise ship berths in downtown Ketchikan, incredibly friendly, a wealth of knowledge, and perfect if you want a personalized experience. It was only ours and one other family onboard the Eagle One for a 2 ½ hour tour around the waters of Ketchikan, but even at full capacity the vessel wouldn’t have had many more passengers on board. Jesse knew right where to go, and we spotted humpback whales almost immediately. There were several in the bay and we got to watch them all surface repeatedly for quite a while. Sam was out on deck with us and really helped us understand the seas and the animals. They then took us over to a Bald Eagle nesting area, where we got up close to one of the majestic birds. Off in the distance, Jesse noticed a black spot on a far shoreline and as we got closer we confirmed it was a large black bear! The icing on the cake were seals relaxing on a rock formation out in the bay, and a swarm of eagles circling and diving into the water feasting on a school of fish. Plus the sun came out! If you’re visiting Ketchikan on a cruise ship, I highly recommend you spend some time with Eagle One. They are a wonderful alternative to the giant busload-type shore excursions, you’ll be glad you went!
