I would suggest this tour to anyone who is visiting the Portland area (and maybe some locals too if you want to get to know your town). Our tour guide Angie was so knowledgeable from how the restaurants sourced their food, to the different stories of the chefs and brewers, and even history of the city of Portland.

We did the Best of Portland tour which takes you all over the city. I think this is a great tour to start with if you're new to the city, because you really get a lay of the land and what the city has to offer. We got to try seafood, beer, wine, food carts, and of course some Portland ice cream.

If you're in Portland, don't miss out on this fun opportunity!

Took a tour of Portland neighborhoods with stops at 5 food truck "pods". Food was amazing and Angie was very knowledgeable about the city! Interesting facts about the city's history, modern day highlights of each neighborhood, and great info on each food truck you stop at. Highly recommended for anyone who likes good food and wants to see what Portland has to offer!

My friend and I were staying in Portland for an extended weekend celebrating my birthday. We booked the 10am Downtown Portland Eating Tour to sample the delights of Portland. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the tour. Dylan, our guide was knowledgeable and gave us great insight in both Portland history and culture and took us to some amazing places to sample the local cuisine.

We began by meeting up with everyone at Director Park. After pleasantries and a little about our days activities we were sampled two flavors of donuts from Blue Star Donuts and given a little of its history and significance. We then walked over to Pioneer Courthouse Square and were treated to an egg sandwich from Fried Egg I'm in Love. Funnily enough we passed thru the square and saw the enormous line and thought it must be good for people to want to stand in that line. It was great we got to sample this food cart without waiting. We had the Yoko Ono and it definitely lived up to the hype.

We then took a walk to the waterfront and Dylan told us a few more historical facts about the area. We walked a few blocks more and visited Luc Lac Vietnamese Kitchen. We had heard great things about this restaurant on a tour we took the day before and was excited to get to sample the food. We had Vietnamese coffee, Sugarcane Shrimp, Cream Cheese Wontons, and Chicken Wings. Everything was delicious. It was so good we had dinner here the next day. Our next stop was Lil Shalom where we sampled the hummus and pita and topped it off with a low proof cocktail called Blood Bubbles. Again, everything was delicious. Our final stop was Roste Chocolate House. Here we were served sipping chocolate with fresh whipped cream and chocolate nibbles.

The whole tour and experience was wonderful and Dylan was amazing. I highly recommend this tour if you'd like to experience a little taste of local Portland cuisine.

Our family of 4 (3 generations) had a fantastic time with our guide Pat. She was very energetic and knew so much about the neighborhoods. Big tip, make sure you go on an empty stomach. The food is soo goood. I didn't realize there were so many pods in the area full of fantastic food carts. Some great places to just hang out with friends and family and have food, drink and socialize.

This was one of the highlights of our too short visit to Portland. Pat was a wonderful guide and host, tailoring the food stops to our tastes and what we love to eat. The best coffee. The best cocktail. The best chicken and rice. The best chocolate. She had vast knowledge of the foodie scene and history, was funny and entertaining, and deeply passionate about the local industry. Don’t miss it.

We took the Food Carts and Neighborhood tour and had a great time! Angie was really knowledgeable and we got a lot of good advice about places to visit and other places to eat along the way. It was a great way to be able to visit the different neighborhoods of Portland and it really puts Portland into perspective. I'd definitely recommend it as one of the first things you do when visiting Portland for the first time as it really helps to plan out the rest of your time. The trip itself was really efficient as Angie knew all the right roads to avoid traffic and all the places to park to minimize being in the rain. She has really great relationships with the different cart owners and a number of them came over to talk to us about their food and answer any questions we had. We got our tasty treats staged really well and things were just coming off the griddle as we were pulling up. You really get a lot more out of the experience than you would if you just drove around to sample the different spots. The food you get to try can be different depending on time/season/etc, but we got bulgogi tacos, philly cheese steak on potatoes, eggplant parm sandwiches with fried olives, smoked salmon in a potato based wrapped, and dessert waffles. Angie really puts together a complementary spread based on the food truck pod communities, their locations, the ordering of the foods, and how well the dishes pair with each other. We were pleasantly stuffed and happy at the end of the tour.

I contacted Eat adventures to book the Food Carts tour for our bachelorette group, and Angela did a wonderful job accommodating our group. She did a fantastic job describing the the different neighborhoods while we were hopping to different pods and giving us a feel for the city. The food was phenomenal and the best part was that she took us to very unique spots that we wouldn’t have tried otherwise. Highly recommend this tour!

We absolutely loved our food tour of downtown Portland! Dylan was a great guide - so personable and an absolute wealth of knowledge regarding Portland and its history. The food selections were great and some that I probably wouldn't have picked on my own. But, so delicious. I highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for some good foodie finds and to learn about the city!
