We absolutely loved working with Nicole and Rebecca -- I could tell from the start that they wanted to make sure they were meeting our expectations and ensuring every detail was aligned with our vision. They were able to work within our budget while still prioritizing what we wanted most for our special day. We also particularly loved the final table preview so there were no "surprises" on our end and they were open to making final adjustments to ensure everything was exactly what we wanted.

Hiring Emerald City Designs was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. They provided design services for our florals, rentals (linens, chairs, photo wall), and stationary. Their process makes planning so easy and the design meeting was the most fun we had during wedding planning. We worked with Nicole and the way she brought our vision to life was incredible. The team at ECD is so professional and efficient. We were fortunate that ECD works closely with our venue so they handled all of the logistics and details, taking that added stress off our plates and on the wedding day, the set-up and breakdown was seamless. We recently used Emerald City Designs for our wedding, as part of an all-in-one package that included everything from the venue to the flowers. The floral portion alone cost over $2,000, and we initially expected this amount to cover a beautifully adorned chuppah for our ceremony and elegant flower centerpieces for the reception.

During our meeting with the florist, I emphasized that we wanted floral arrangements for the chuppah and centerpieces. However, after our discussion, we received a new quote that was over one thousand dollars higher and were originally quoted. $600 for a high style flowing design for the Chuppah, and yhey also quoted a three-hour rental for the chuppah at over $400, which was more than it cost us to rent a car for several days.

To manage costs, we decided to create our own main centerpieces and reduce some items, such as tapered candles. When we asked to lower the price, they also removed our option to preview the table setups before the wedding unless we paid an additional $50. Moreover, the florist selected the most expensive flowers available, as confirmed by relatives in the floral industry. The quote also changed from the $600 high style flowing design to a small floral design for $500.

On the day of the wedding, the chuppah looked nice but had only two small bouquets on stands, which appeared to be sourced from a grocery store. At the reception, my homemade centerpieces were surrounded by a few small votives that looked cheap and out of place.

Overall, we were very disappointed with the value and service provided by Emerald City Designs. Their excessive markups and lack of transparency made our floral arrangements feel overpriced and underwhelming. I would not recommend them to others planning their special day

We used ECD for our wedding day decor for our downtown Detroit wedding. I am not the type to DIY but also didn't want to spend an obscene amount of money on decorations. Our even manager, Rebecca, was so easy to work with and was patient with us as we tried to make our dream day come to life without being out of our price range. She was creative with coming up with ways to make my requests happen and was flexible in making changes every step of the way. Not only did they make all of my requests happen, but coordinated getting all the decorations to and from the venue, dropped off the flowers promptly to us in the morning, and set up our additional family heirloom decorations we wanted incorporated the day of. The bridal bouquets were stunning and lasted the entire day. The centerpieces received so many compliments from our wedding guest, will add more photos later when I receive them. I was so thrilled with our experience with ECD and am so glad we had their help through the process, I truly could not have make the space come to life the way they did.

Emerald City did fabulous work for our wedding. We were contracted through the Detroit Opera House as part of an all-inclusive package, so ECD handled all the floral and decor of our ceremony and reception. Nicole and her team did a perfect job executing our vision and keeping to our budget.

Emerald City Designs was one of the recommended vendors by our venue space. We do not live in Michigan so it was important for us when planning from afar to find a one-stop-shop vendor and vendors who were already very familiar with the venue space. We are so happy that this led us to ECD. ECD provided our day of coordination, rehearsal services, florals, rentals, and day of paper (large seating board, welcome sign).

Even though we chose day-of coordination instead of more full-on planning services, we felt that we had total communication and support from ECD from day 1. The process from initial inquiry to wedding day was clear and easy. Reviewing the statement of service and pricing was transparent and they were very helpful when making any changes or adjustments based on design or budget. Nicole and Rebecca, through our emails and design/preview meetings, understood our visions and inspiration for the wedding and made it happen. They were thorough, professional, and very easy to talk to.

Rebecca as our day-of coordinator went above and beyond. She provided a very detailed timeline and agenda and put everyone at ease and made sure we were where we were supposed to be at all times. I did not feel any stress during the weekend. It really did make a difference for me that everyone we worked with at ECD was familiar with our venue and a bonus was they knew the other vendors - it made our wedding weekend and day run seamlessly.
