The door to our room was next to the pool and I know there were others that surrounded that central focus as well. I think there might have been a couple of other rooms a bit removed. In any case it didn’t seem to matter because this isn’t the kind of place where you’re going to find a lot of kids frolicking in the pool. It’s pretty much a couples getaway oasis located at the end of a residential street just a few blocks away from the main road in town. The room had sort of a mission style feel with a cute little patio area. The property is extremely well tended to but they should take care of spider webs on the patio umbrellas.

Just spent 3 nights in the Tadpole Guest Room. Lovely! Photos on website are exact. The room & bathroom were spotless. Bed is extremely comfortable. Linens & towels superior quality. The A/C is best I've ever had in any hotel room, silent & thermostat control. The pool is very clean with luxurious lounge cushions, surrounding redwood tables & chairs for sitting & eating. Complimentary fruit infused water & yummy snacks provided all day. Staff are welcoming & accommodating. The location & grounds are enchanting. Not one negative aspect. Will most definitely return.

What to say? To call this place a 'hotel' would be to demean it. The Emerald Iguana Inn is a paradisiacal space, in the enchanted, tastefully hip town of Ojai. Beautifully designed by architect Marc Whitman, each casita or room is creatively arranged to offer its own uniqueness, and privacy. Elegant but rustic adobe; chic but authentic; outrageously comfortable; glorious eucalyptus trees rustling in the warm breeze; a quiet pool; a lovely family of raccoons around the place by night. Estimably bossy rules about 'quiet time' after 9pm, to secure the sheer CLASS of the place, and a subsequently respectful, quality clientele. In the office (and little boutique), the two Laurens and their colleagues are full of good ideas on how to spend time one is blessed enough to spend in this most beautiful corner of America - unsurprisingly, the setting for 'Shangri-La' in the movie 'Lost Horizon'. Just checked out. We mentioned the fireplace in our room was not working as well as the DVD player. (We had alerted them to the fireplace the evening before and they said they would check and we never hear back). The woman at the front desk was completely unapologetic and told us we should have 'connected the hdmi cable and next time let us know before 3pm about the fireplace." We didn't even check in before 3! She essentially said 'go F yourself' with a smile on her face. Left us with a really bad taste. It's too bad how an interaction like that can ruin the whole experience.

My partner and I spent two nights at the Emerald Iguana for our honeymoon, and absolutely loved it! The property is so special -- the outdoor areas have a secret garden feel, every building looks like an adorable little fairy house, and the rooms are very comfy and welcoming. We're so bored with the Airbnb/mid-century minimalism of everything these days, so it was such a treat to stay somewhere with some character! This is not a super hip, super fancy, super modern spot. It's a charming, cozy, interesting, delightful, stand-out, memorable, lovely inn... which is so much better!!|We got the "Pink Moment Pamper Me Package," which was a fun honeymoon treat. The wine and chocolates were great, the other little treats were fun to have, and the in-room massages were excellent! Add to that the *very* comfortable bed (with good pillows!), cozy cabin-like interior (our room -- The Tadpole -- had wood and stone walls and furniture, a skylight, and a small private patio), and the inn's perfect location (tucked away from the main street, but only by a couple blocks, so walking to Bart's Books, local restaurants, and the main stretch of little shops and cafes was super quick and easy), and you've got a totally perfect Ojai visit!

This place is so lovely, I never wanted to leave. The architecture and landscape is fun and beautiful, the sound of fountains and birds everywhere is so soothing. The rooms are perfect, and the pool and hot tub are lovely. It’s a 10-15 min walk to spots on the Main Street so it’s quiet and calm but quick to get to more activity and food. Highly recommend!!

I loved my stay here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Good communication. I loved the quiet setting of adults only nestled up in old trees and styled in Old California furnishings. Was a great quiet and rejuvenating retreat conveniently located near some nice hiking trails (driving distance)

Amazing, amazing, amazing!
My wife and I came here for our anniversary trip and it was amazing!
The Emerald Iguana is tucked into a quiet neighborhood and was perfect. The pool and jacuzzi were great.
Our room was extremely nice and comfortable.
We stayed in the Cricket 2 and it was rad. Two story room. Living room downstairs and king bedroom upstairs.
