My husband and I use the walking track at Ernsthausen Rec Center to keep active during winter months.

Amazing and fun but the slide out door gave me a scar on my shoulder, but me and my friend love LOVE the competition pool was amazing, overall I love this place 5 min drive but I was 50 lbs when I rode the slide and now am 70 lbs, great place, I recommend this place, the basketball court is also amazing me and my friends play basketball/volleyball not slippery and people there are friendly same with the staff

the pool is clean, easy to access and use. i'm a little disheartened by how staff communicate. i came with my sister and nephew. i wore a thong bathing suit. i understand how that can make people uncomfortable, so i wasn't surprised when the lifeguard approached me and asked me to cover my bottom. she said "maam, could you please cover your bottom." i just said "okay." then she continued with "...maybe with some shorts or something." which is pretty obvious. again, i just said okay. then she said "and maybe next time, wear something more modest." this is upsetting because i'm almost 30 years old, i don't need to be told how to dress. i can use my deductive reasoning not to wear this bathing suit here again. it was also upsetting because there was a middle-aged woman 50 feet away who was wearing something that looked like something an exotic dancer would wear, yet i'm being told "to dress more modestly." for me, it wasn't what she said but how she said it. my private parts were not hanging out... they are just butt cheeks, dude. don't make me feel like i need to wear a scarlet A on my chest. especially when i wasn't argumentative.

The family locker room area is the only complaint. The hallway needs to have a doorway. When you leave the pool area frigid air will hit you and may freeze you to the ground. Has not happened yet, but I'm betting sometime it will.

Other than that the place is clean, kid friendly and overall enjoyable. Most times the water is warm and hot tubs are hot. Enough work out equipment to keep you busy all day and even a large indoor track.

Bill is the nicest and most friendly lifeguard. Don’t ever get rid of him! He made friendly conversation, even though he didn’t have to. It made my day. One star off because the pool schedule was either moved or removed from the website so I had to wait an hour and a half for the competition pool to open, and I came from out of town.
