Positive: Easy on/off to the freeway. The historic downtown was within 5 miles and had much better dining options than those near the hotel. Negative: There were few travelers on that date so I don?t understand why our rooms are not spaced out. The person staying in the room over mine made quite a bit of noise early in the morning so I lost over an hour of sleep.

This was our second stay at the Gadsden Fairfield location and it was even better than the first visit! The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating! The lobby and dining area is always neat and clean. They went above and beyond to make a room available for my family and I for early check in and our room was clean and tidy! The pool was nice and warm, the breakfast was simple, yet fresh and the shower water was piping HOT!! Special thanks to Eric Steward for his wonderful hospitality and customer service! We will definitely make this location our preferred hotel destination wherever we’re in town!

Exterior looked great, actual rooms not so much. The room reeked of febreeze when we arrived and fixtures and furniture outdated. Lobby was nice and spacious though. Outdoor pool was fine, but small.

Positive: Location and cleanliness. Negative: We booked this hotel because at the time, it stated they have a hot tub (spa). Upon arrival we find out there is not one. On top of that, the pool was outdated and had screws that cut my foot exposed on the bottom of the pool. The room was small.

I went for a refreshing stay to recover from a stressful situation. I originally booked one night as I was rushing just to get away. Upon check-in, I asked if I could add a second night and if it would be the same price I got for the 1st night since it was discounted. The receptionist checked her system and said she could add the 2nd day, and it would be the same price I paid for the 1st night.

At checkout, I glanced at my invoice and noticed an inconsistency with the prices. The lady who printed the invoice was now on the phone, so I asked the first front desk staff I saw for assistance. This lady who identified herself as the manager, explained the the discounted price I originally had could not be given to me by staff and the only way to get that price was to book the reservation online myself.

After going back and forth for about 20 minutes of me questioning why I was not told this at check in, since I could have easily updated my reservation from my phone or in the lobby where they have a computer with internet access.
She eventually agreed to give me a discount, but even still, it was equivalent to me paying for at least 3 nights stay with the original discount price I booked with.

I called Marriott customer service to file a complaint. I was told I would hear back, but after 2 months, I've not received a call back to resolve my complaint.

Why is no one mentioning the God awful sewer smell? We are on the second floor and it’s absolutely disgusting. Front desk says when they get heavy rain, the sewer smell backs up into the hotel. Are there no P traps? Check the weather before you come. The room is lovely but I’m afraid we will die of methane gas poisoning before we can enjoy it.

Staff was nice checking in, room not so much. The room and A/C smelled of urine. My wife went to the bathroom where there was hair shavings and what looks to be pubic hair on the floor. I am a pilot I stay in a lot of Fairfield hotels. This one is in need of help and is disgusting atleast our room was. I would stay next door at the holiday Inn express.

Great stay here and the Comfy bed and good water pressure is a plus. They have waffle makers so that’s perfect too. I love that I’m able to control the AC. AC can be loud if that bother you..
