They sadly treat the people like inmates here. Ridiculous rules and expectations. 5 pm curfew. Mandatory dinner from 5:30-7:30. Have to give 3 days notice that has to be approved to leave premises other than work or school. Not allowed to purchase any of your own food or snacks even if you have food stamps. Must only eat what's provided. People can come in your room any time they want and search your property. Want access to ALL your business, medical records and all. It's literally like your on parole. Being homeless does not make you a criminal!
Better off sleeping in the woods. Someone I know has to stay there due to tragedy and what they put her through is ridiculous. She almost had a nervous breakdown.
Should be helping people, not punishing them

My mother has been trying to get into Family Promise for months. She has called and called. They told her she had been put on the list and that she should have a place to stay within 2-8 weeks. After 8 weeks she had called to ask wait time they acted like they didn't even know who she was. She has still been trying to get in after months. No one answers the phone and no one calls her back.

Linda helped me and my son over 13 years ago! I will never forget her giving me a chance to better myself. I slipped into hard times here and there after. But I was able to pull myself through because I knew I had before! Not only did I leave the shelter into my new home, but I got a education, a driver licenses, employment, and all the resources I needed for a fresh start for me and my young son. It was work and Linda won't suger coat anything. She can be known to show some though love. But she wants people to leave the program and be able to stand on their own! She will not let you make excuses or "I can't " attuide! It may be over 13 years later but I went from nothing to owning my own home and car, my kids have everything they need and I found a job I absolutely love. Anything is possible just got to keep working towards it even when you might not hear what you want to hear. Glad to see this program is still going and helping family's ♡

The woman who runs the establishment likes to break confidentiality and not only tell others who has been to her for assistance but she also likes to lie about people who come to her for help. I went in after losing both parents and desperately needing help and what I ended up with was her making up stories and creating an even more serious situation for me. The place may be great for some but in my case it was more harmful than anything.

A fantastic organization that helps move families back to a bright light. Our Sycamore Presbyterian Church has been a strong supporter, both financially, and with volunteer hours for this organization.

I appreciate what they are trying to do and I tried to make a donation, however when you go to the address and they say you have to take it to the warehouse, fine. So you get to the warehouse and up walks some chick with an attitude. Why am I getting attitude for trying to help someone? Took the stuff to goodwill! I guess I'll find someone who wants help to help others. Just trying to do right for the sake of humanity but I will not take poor attitude for it!
