While traveling we had a tire blowout on I-70, in a construction area that put us and our 40’ with tow in an unsafe situation. Our call to FMCA as indicated for help initially went well, but after repeated calls they decided that they would deny service; no explanation given. We were lucky enough to find a tow on our own, and thankfully nobody hit us as we sat.

It’s a very expensive plastic number if you like the gimmick, but do not count on them beyond that. I had mine off before the tow truck got there.

Alex in customer service was professional and handled our questions with ease. And we renewed with a discount.
We especially love the FMCA Assist benefit. We are 71 and 72 and going to do some international travel. We were advised by our travel agent to get travel health insurance in case of medical evacuation. FMCA Assist takes care of it! Convenient and inexpensive coverage!! We're Happy Campers!

I had an awful experience with RV Driving School. It was the worst I’ve had in my 3 years as a RV’r. I will do my best to fairly and honestly describe what happened below:

Accident/Vehicle Damage - We were back in parking at Burr Oak State Park. Instructor was directing from the co-pilot seat. I followed his directions perfectly and it led to an accident. The front end and driver side panels are cracked and bent.

Communication - Instructor left his hearing aids at home and had an extremely difficult time hearing us. After the accident, the instructor mentioned he was struggling with some kind of head injury. I understand being chatty but 85% of our time together involved the Instructor droning on about his personal life.

Curriculum - I feel like a thoughtful agenda with some cone work, verbal training and even written materials would be helpful. Instead, I was greeted with “Show up around 10:30 and I’ll take you trough purgatory then hell. As long as you do what I say we’ll be okay.” The instructor also asked multiple times if we wanted to squeeze the training into a half day. After 15 minutes driving around Walmart we drove 1.5 hours to the campground where the accident occurred. This doesn’t seem like a thoughtful use of time/gas. I have to believe there are closer areas to learn how to turn & back up.

Cover Up - After the accident we asked to end the day and go home. The instructor said he was going to tell the company he had to cancel the training for a health issue. He said he was doing this so that our fee would be refunded. I told him I’d like to tell RV Driving School about the accident and he discouraged me from doing so.

This was my only experience and it may just have been a single instructor issue. The owner of RV Driving School did follow up with me. He was nice and heard me out and then told me about how great the company is. At the end of the day, I invested time and money into becoming a safer more confident RV operator. What I got was extensive damage to my coach, very little education and lies.

Great club to belong to if you own or are thinking of purchasing an RV. Any kind, with or without a motor. Great chapters to join for close to home events. Or go to one of the two per year, national events with thousands of your closest friends.

NEVER NEVER NEVER join FMCA!!!! They have the WORST customer service I have ever experienced!!! I joined them in March of '22, with the plan of getting their Roadside Assistance. I couldn't do them both in the same month because I'm on a fixed income. So, I just tried to get Roadside in May, and they told me that I would have to pay for membership again, since I'm supposed to do them both at the same time. I said "it doesn't say that on your website", and the lady said it said "it's in our policy". I asked to talk to a manager to complain about this, they referred me to Aaron White, the membership manager. I called him, his machine came on, I left a message, and he called me back when I couldn't pick up the phone. I tried 3 more times to call him back, leaving messages each time, and he never called me back. They obviously don't care to have my business.
All the website says is that you have to be a member to get RA, not join them both at the same time, which is ridiculous!!

Here is an update 7-14-20. Based on the emailed quote my bank determined the Charge is Fraudulent and refunded my money. These people at FMCA have a true cultural problem within their office.

I followed the Michelin advantage tire program for a second time and I could’ve purchased the tires for $500 less if I didn’t go through the FMCA.
They send you part numbers of tires after I offer to send them a picture of the ones on my rig. I can’t decipher the numbers. They are just part numbers.
When going to have the tires put on a different set was put on even after ordering that part number.
When I pointed this out to the FMCA they could actually care less. They thought it was funny and just said to call Michelin or the dealer.
As a consumer I have no way of knowing this because you have to give them your credit card number prior to even visiting the tire dealer. You have no control over what they’re going to charge your card and the FMCA will not provide any help after the fact.
I see no reason to belong to this organization anymore. I’ve only been RVing since 1996 I’m on my fourth motorhome it not like I just started RVing.
Your response stating you explaining on the phone as you know is completely false. I followed the instructions to the letter, further Dan wrote on an email to me coming to conclusions and Dan has never even spoke to me or asked me one question about why I was not happy.
If I saw a post like this about the marina I own and my manager did what Dan did without resolving it he would be forced to fix it by me. Or fired. I value my customers more than my ego.
