My wife and I tried Family Ties over the weekend, and words cannot describe how delicious it was. You can tell it’s a quality meat when it doesn’t need sauce to be flavorful. It all but melted in my mouth.
The sides were fantastic as well: tangy beans and salty fried okra and a wonderfully dense corn muffin.
To top it all off, the staff were so welcoming and kind. The owner came out and checked on us, and we felt so cared for.
We will definitely become regulars here!!!

Absolutely delicious and authentic southern BBQ and cuisine! My grandma and I were coming through Greensboro and complained about the lack of options when we discovered Family Ties. We split a half-rack of ribs with three sides and it was absolutely wonderful. Every piece of the meal was spectacular, you can tell these folks take pride in what they're making.

Barbecue come in all flavors some I like more than others. I happen to like this flavor a lot. Servings were very generous and delicious. We had pulled pork sandwiches and plates with side of Mac and cheese, collards and coleslaw. Pulled pork plate had a very nice corn bread. Very tasty ice tea that wasn’t too sweet. Service was excellent. Owner/chef talked to us and wanted to make sure everything was to our expectations. On street parking is available. Restaurant has short hours around the weekend, so be sure to check times.

Camping at Lake Oconee for the week and found Family Ties on a Sunday for a casual lunch. Great people and delicious, freshly prepared southern favorites! Definitely recommend a visit if in Greensboro, GA. Owner and staff are friendly and efficient - thanks for a great meal!

We were the first party to arrive on Sunday and they couldn't get their credit card machine to work. Half our party had to go across the street to an ATM. As for the food, it was only ok. They seriously messed up 2 of our orders. The veggies, including the collards and green beans, were much too salty. They're trying hard and seem to be real good people, but they have kinks to work out before we try them again.

I don’t do drugs but I’m pretty sure they’ve got something addictive in the air here… the ribs, collard greens, mac’n cheese, cake… it’s like going to grandma’s house for Sunday dinner and not having to wait all day to eat, or set the table, or do dishes. I want to take a moment of silence to honor the memory of the ribs I ate and how the meat slid right off the bone. It was something to behold, and the flavor was definitely of divine significance. We will be back the next time we’re within 50 miles.

I'm staying at a near RV park and had a bad jones for some good barbecue. I'm so glad I found this place and lives up to the comments I read before coming here.
The ribs have a great smoke ring and cooked perfectly, not overcooked like so many places. I tried them first without the sauce, the flavor was excellent, savory and smoky. Of course I had to try the sauce, had a nice tang & spiciness, but not too hot so it doesn't overpower the meat. The collards, mac & cheese, and cornbread were all very good and have plenty left over for lunch tomorrow .
The service was great and the owner was very friendly. He even told me the type of wood he uses to smoke but I'm not giving away his trade secrets LOL. Do yourself a favor and go try it!
