Fox and Bear has been a wonderful experience from the day we booked our stay. They have wonderful communication and we were welcomed warmly by the owners. We stayed for Valentine’s Day and to do a preview of the venue for our wedding. They greeted our dog with treats (my picky boy loved), food and water bowl, dog bags, and a bed. They also left us some lovely treats. The inn is cozy and well designed with fun whimsical details at every corner. In the morning we had a wonderful breakfast made by the inn keeper and the cafe had plenty of treats for us to take home. We met with Brant the owner to go over their wedding packages. They are very affordable and gave us the backdrop of a wedding that isn’t so cookie cutter like other venues in NJ. We are very excited to start planning our wedding for June of 2026!

Our wedding at Fox & Bear was truly unforgettable, and we can’t recommend it highly enough! From the moment we booked, Brant was communicative and incredibly supportive. He was on-site for the entire wedding weekend, handling any unexpected events (like rain!) and ensuring everything went smoothly. His attention to detail was outstanding, and we always felt confident that he had everything under control.

The venue itself is breathtaking, with a warm, slightly magical atmosphere that set the perfect backdrop for our day. It felt intimate and special, and our guests, especially those who stayed for the weekend, loved every moment. They couldn’t stop talking about how wonderful the space was, and we heard so many compliments about how much fun they had. The accommodations were fantastic, making it a perfect location for a weekend celebration.

A special mention goes to Janice, who prepared the breakfasts for our guests. She was incredibly warm and friendly, and her meals were delicious! It was such a lovely touch for our guests to start their mornings with a fantastic breakfast and such a welcoming atmosphere.

We are so grateful to the entire Fox & Bear team for making our wedding weekend so memorable. The combination of the beautiful venue, excellent service, and incredible food truly made our day magical. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Fox and Bear Lodge! We stayed in the Valley View South, and it was perfect. The fireplace created such a cozy atmosphere, and the bed linens and comforter were heavenly—I slept so well, even with my husband’s snoring! The breakfast was fantastic, especially the waffles with fruit and sausage on the side. We purchased our stay through Gilt and hope they partner again in the future. If there’s another promotion, we’d come back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

My husband and I stayed here 02/21/25-02/22/25 on a Friday evening. We got to the establishment at around 5pm and the front door lock was not active as there is an electric pad lock that has a code that is sent to guests emails. We walked in to find out we were the only guests staying that night which was like an adventure, kind of eerie, we checked out the property but felt a little creeped out because it’s one of those places where there are no employees after a certain time which is fine but since the front door wasn’t locked at arrival, anyone could have entered at any given time. We locked up and stayed in our room for the remainder of the night. I want to preface that we were so excited because we had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before and we were looking forward to the experience in the morning. The information card in the room said breakfast was served from 8:30 to 10 am. Janice arrived around 8:30 and she was pleasant and said she would be making us breakfast and to let her know when we were ready. We were showered and ready by 9:30. She escorted us to the cafe that is attached and told us we can pick a drink and that there were breakfast sandwiches and pastries we could pick from on the menu. We already felt awkward because the details were vague so I asked if we were allowed to pick more than one item. She said yes but like it was forced and continued to say “normally I would have a big breakfast ready with different options but” “it’s just you guys”. We already felt like we weren’t getting the same attention to detail as the reviews said. And when she said that we really felt like it was a disservice to our first experience at a bed and breakfast. We ordered our drinks and my husband and I both got an egg and cheese on a biscuit with a pastry on the side. After we sat down, the croissants looked really good so I asked Janice if you each can also get a croissant with butter and she was extremely hesitant in her demeanor and once again she forced a yes out of her mouth. She came back with one croissant. We didn’t say anything because at this point we were feeling so discouraged. The food was amazing so no problem there. I just want to say that it’s not fair that we didn’t get the same service and attention to detail because they didn’t have a full house. It felt like we were an afterthought and and it was extremely disheartening because we chose Fox and Bear for our first experience. I don’t think it should matter if you have on room booked or 7 rooms booked as we paid and deserved the same 5 star service.

Every second of our event was perfect thanks to the staff at Fox & Bear!

We held our wedding reception in the Chandelier Room and between the perfect ambiance and excellent service we couldn't be happier. The attention to detail was immaculate and the decor was perfect. We hardly did anything to prepare, everything was done for us. Denise and Kayla made our day so special, and we couldn't be more grateful.

Even our gluten-free guests were attended to with care, which was so meaningful to us. Those of us who weren't able to enjoy the wedding cake were given GF carrot cake cupcakes that our gluten intolerant family loved.

We stayed at The Fox and Bear Lodge for my fiancé’s birthday, and it exceeded all expectations. The glowing reviews are absolutely justified! From the moment we arrived, Janice made us feel at home, ensuring we were well taken care of. Our room was ready with Prosecco waiting, and our dog was welcomed with a bed, toys, and treats—a thoughtful touch that truly impressed us.

We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon on the deck, capturing beautiful moments together, and the entire stay flowed perfectly. Breakfast the next morning was expertly prepared, with my fiancé’s dietary restrictions thoughtfully accommodated. Every detail was carefully planned, and the surrounding area offers great hiking spots.

This was an unforgettable experience, and we’ll definitely be returning in the future!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Fox & Bear Lodge, looking for a cozy winter getaway while revisiting my old partial hometown of Warwick, NY. This charming lodge exceeded all expectations and provided an unforgettable stay.

From the moment we arrived, the hospitality of Brandt, Derick, and Janice made us feel completely at home. Their warm and welcoming nature set the tone for a relaxing and enjoyable visit.

The lodge itself is a stunning blend of eclectic Pre-Victorian charm with hints of Gothic elegance—a true feast for the eyes. Every corner of the property tells a story, creating an atmosphere that feels both historic and inviting.

Our room was immaculate and beautifully decorated, featuring a cozy gas fireplace and perfectly placed wingback chairs, ideal for unwinding after a day of exploring. The attention to detail in the design and comfort of the accommodations was truly impressive.

Whether you’re skiing in Vernon Valley or strolling through the charming shops and restaurants of Warwick, Fox & Bear Lodge is the perfect home base. The combination of outstanding hospitality, unique ambiance, and luxurious comfort makes this an absolute must-visit. We can't recommend it enough and will definitely be returning!
