I had high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience has been marked by disappointment due to ongoing issues with professionalism, communication, and organizational structure. Calls and messages frequently go unanswered, and there’s a serious lack of follow-through with parents, leaving families in the dark.

One of the most troubling aspects I’ve observed is the dynamic among leadership. Specifically, the Black men in charge often exhibit dismissive and, at times, discriminatory attitudes toward Black women. This has been deeply hurtful and concerning—not only on a personal level but also in terms of the message it sends to our children about respect, value, and representation.

The program also lacks transparency and accountability. The website is poorly designed and difficult to navigate, and children are sometimes subjected to uncomfortable and unsafe conditions during tournaments, such as extreme heat and lack of ventilation—all while families are charged premium prices.

Parents deserve better communication, consistency, and cultural awareness from any organization entrusted with the development of their children. I strongly encourage families to ask tough questions and observe carefully before making a commitment to this program.

My son has been attending Fro for six years, with a brief interruption due to Covid. He began when he was four years old and is now ten. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the facility is well-maintained and conducive to learning. My son participates in skill classes and has also received private training. While the skill classes are beneficial, I believe that the private training sessions are more effective due to the one-on-one attention and personalized instruction. The skill coaches could be more proactive in correcting the children's form and providing constructive feedback. My son also plays rec ball, which they relies on parents to volunteer. Perhaps one day we'll invest in travel ball, but for right now we're happy with our current situation. Overall, I recommend this academy for children who are serious about playing basketball and are willing to put in the effort to improve their skills.

We started here and were happy with the program but the longer we stayed and joined a team it became messier and messier. At first we were with a Coach who was awesome and all the kids and parents loved him. Unfortunately he was coaching too many teams and a major conflict at a tournament happened that the administration defended despite Literally every parent on the team voicing the same concerns in a meeting yet being told; you didn’t see what you all saw. So we were moved with a new coach immediately and everything went down hill. You can see how the kids were no longer enthusiastic about playing, and how unfriendly our new coach was/is. When you have an entire team thats new to basketball and discovering if they even like basketball and place them with a hard up coach who doesnt smile, joke or even have fun with the boys while practicing, it takes all the fun out of the sport and makes it hard for a child to even want to show up to such discomfort. Example: The boys liked the other coach so such that anytime he was coaching another team the kids would flock to him and hang around the bench to cheer on the team and fill in if coach needed someone. These kids would never approach this new coach by choice. Before our coach was switched, the team began winning games, after the switch, we couldn’t buy a game and its because how this coach handles these boys. The kids didn't and cant bond with him because of his stiff and rigid demeanor. And its wild because he is a college kid. You’d think he’d be more enjoyable to these young boys. This guy really should be coaching older kids, but that takes the administration to give a darn and pay attention. Since administration defends their coaches so hard despite the cry's a parents no one said anything but we just left.

My son started Fro in 2020. He went to the Frohlich sports academy for 2 years and the other 2 years has trained there after school. We highly recommend being connected with the Fro Family. Really great individuals that truly care about your child’s development. We still continue to train at Fro and are grateful to the coaches especially Coach David, Micah, and Taj. Thank you for all your help and support.

On another note. We are really excited for the new floors and updates they are making!!!

This place needs to seriously fix their Air Conditioning system. Basketball tournaments here are no joke, the place feels very hot and humid. Some people in attendance were borderline passing out feeling dizzy I can only imagine what the players feel playing in these conditions. FIX ASAP

I saw how they played in a tournament. Watch out and take a closer look on their legs & feet when your kids get to play with them coz they tripped! If you're kids starts falling to the ground which is out of normal, that's the sign. Have your coach call them out!

Terrible experience. Good thing we just paid trial fee which is $30. The ratio of players to coach is very high. About 40 trainees, to 5 coach but only 1 coach is working. Paid attention till last minute of trial session. Noticed a few things: kids who don’t know what to do barely get corrected. Kids dont get called out for traveling, double dribble. How can they learn though? Scrimmage only started 7 min prior end of session. I mentioned too many students, bec of that, they are doing scrimmage using only half a court. With that said, we’re not coming back.
