The Graduate in New Haven is such a cute hotel! I love the attention to detail here. I typically like more minimalist hotel styles, but this place is so elegant and screams old money. I love that the key cards are bios of famous graduates from Yale. Everything is modeled to graduate hotel, Yale, and dogs. Everything has a student feel to it. Lovely hotel to stay at. It's also super close to everything you'd want to do in downtown. The cafe was very nice. They had amazing cappuccinos and matcha lattes.

Room was quaint and small. Only food was bar fried food for lunch/dinner. Also a very limited selection of bread products for breakfast. I am a business traveler who spends several nights a most weeks in Hilton or Marriott hotel rooms. A couple of days after checking out of the Graduate, I was accused of damaging the room and billed $250 for damages. They said I damaged the bed and removed toiletries. Upon contacting the hotel, I was sent close up pictures of a bed with a stain and of a shower with a bottle in it. I only sat at the desk in the room while on a call with my one cup of coffee for the day. I did NOT use shower during my stay. Nevermind the photos are so up close I can’t tell if it is the same bed or even the same room or the same day as my checkout. I am a Hilton Diamond member and if I had spilled coffee, I would have tried to clean it up and called the front desk to let them know so they could send someone right away to clean it before it stained. This isn’t my first rodeo! Be sure to inspect your room and report it as soon as you get there if you find ANYTHING! Take pictures going in and as you leave of everything in the room to protect yourself— even the shower toiletries. I have seen other reviews here of people who also said they were billed for damages they did not do. It is possible they don’t notice from a prior guest and I am wrongly accused. Either way, I did not do the damage I am being accused of by the Graduate. I am rethinking using Hilton hotels in general in the future. I definitely advise avoiding the Graduate that is a Hilton partner hotel.

Everything was excellent. In particular Kristina at the front desk. She was very welcoming and her suggestions for places to go and eat were superb. I visited Yale University Art Gallery thanks to her. We will definitely stay @ The Graduate next time we are in New Haven.

Had a flawlessly easy check in. Jamie at the front desk was extremely wonderful and personable. Made the experience feel very welcoming and warm. Great rooms with perfect amount of space for a quick overnight stay. 10/10 reccomend popping in for a nice weekend in New Haven or even just a quick night out of the house.

Checked in with Christopher and the two nights I stayed, Jamie helped me out! She is absolutely fantastic. Friendly and great suggestions to local restaurants.
Tip, when using the elevator. Make sure you count 5seconds when placing your key like...
"one, one thousand, two, one thousand, three, one thousand, four, one thousand, five, on thousands!"

OK. So there is nothing bad to say about the graduate, and I'm sure most people would love it, but for me, I give it a 4.5 stars. The biggest drawback is that there is no parking at the hotel. No associated parking garage, nothing. There is some on street parking, but the meter situation in New Haven is ridiculous! There are literally 3 signs at the meters describing the litany of parking restrictions. It's a good thing Yale is in this city. You need a PhD just to decide the parking. Best just to say frustrating and confusing. There is a bar and coffee shop in the hotel but no food for dinner, which is disappointing, but there are like 5 of 6 restaurants on the block. The bar looks cool and was full of college age folks during my two day stay. I believe it's been here for around 100 years. The beds are comfortable, and rooms are clean. They have daily housekeeping, which is nice and not always the case these days.

This cozy hotel is right in heart of Chapel Street & Yale University.||The rooms are a little on the small side, but don't let that deter you. It definitely has a New England design style. Our room was sparkling clean, the bathroom was something to look at. The young woman working the front desk when we checked was an excellent ambassador for the hotel.||The coffee shop on the lower level would make a great place to hangout if you don't feel like taking in Chapel Street.||The only nits I would pick would be the large sign out front says Hotel Duncan, a vestige of its previous life & that parking in a half block away around the corner.

Excellent hotel! Very well furnished, quaint yet modern, comfortable rooms and bathrooms. A total 5star experience!
Service staff is super friendly and prompt. They text with you and check on your needs.

The room is exceptional! I had the larger king bed room. It was fantastic. The bathroom is nicely done and all amenities are superb. Great touch on Yale!

I would absolutely stay here everytime
