Both are very knowledgeable, personable, and happy to share many memories about St. Helena Island history. The tour was engaging and educational. Our tour, led by Mrs. Kitty Green, was phenomenal. We learned so much about Gullah-Geechee culture and the history of the area/island. We were driven around the St. Helena Island area and the Penn Center campus. There were many opportunities to get out of the car and look at historical sights. The two-hour tour went longer because we had many questions, all of which were answered. It was a highlight of our 3-week trip around the southern area of U.S.
I will add that the Penn Center also offers a fascinating movie and museum. We visited that on our own right before our Gullah-N-Geechie Mahn Tour. It very much enhanced the information Mrs. Green shared.

This is the Best Tour Ever! The mother and daughter team are a Dynamic Duo, second to none. My family and I gained so much knowledge during the tour. We enjoyed experiencing the different historical sites that included soulful praise songs and learning about the skilled peoples who made-up the Gullah Geechie diaspora. Our tour guides called each tour guest by name throughout the 2-hour tour. Love these Ladies, and you will too. Money well spent!!
